  1. This is an old thread, but still relevant. I did the upgrade on my 2005 Outback 3.0R using the MC and booster from an '03 WRX. What a difference!!! Much, much better. I put together a couple of videos to describe what I did.
  2. Just to close out the thread, I was able to fit the display in the space behind the upper head unit (where the cubby or GPS is) and with the connector plugged in, the airbag light is no longer on.
  3. I replaced my cubby and lower airbag/computer info screen with an Android head unit. All is working great except the airbag light is on in the gauge cluster. I didn't touch any of the airbag related connectors during the install and the fuse is fine. I did leave the info screen connectors disconnected and I don't have any airbag status indication in the overhead screen. Is it possible that I need to have these connectors hooked up to avoid the airbag gauge cluster light? Is there any other way around this because I don't have space for the little screen anymore.
  4. Disabled the DRLs and decided to keep the pan under the dash off. Subaru must have designed the car for people with small feet because I was always wedging my foot between the pan and the floor when hitting the brake.
  5. Bought a 2007 head unit with auto climate on ebay. Made my own adapter harness for AUX from instructions and installed the AUX cable port next to the cig lighter in the arm rest cubby.
