  1. That's a pricey wheel for sure but whenever I see a steering wheel discussion, I like to reference this clip. Granted it's a legit eBay knockoff, but I think it still holds up.

 I do remember this video!!

I actually have my 08-14 JDM STI steering wheel installed at the moment with the cruise control conversion. It looks, works and feels great compared to my old OBXT steering wheel. I still want a D-Shaped steering wheel though.

I ended up buying a DAMD D-Shaped steering wheel, except a made a big mistake and did not read the listing before buying and went off the listing photo instead  Totally my mistake. I ended up buying the steering wheel version that matched my 06 OBXT airbag and not the new STI airbag....

I will be selling my brand new DAMD steering wheel to recover some cost since return shipment + Customs/Duties + restock is $$$$. More worth it for me to sell it in North America, then order the correct DAMD steering wheel and take a bit of a hit.

Lessons learned! Its very unusual of me to not read the listing in and out... first time for everything

I will be posting some photos of my STI steering wheel as an update, and I will be posting my DAMD steering wheel for sale on the classified listings when I get the chance!

  2. I'd like to see the quality in person.

Whomever decides to be the first guinea pig is either going to be really happy, or really disappointed.

For that price difference I'd probably just buy the DAMD since you know it will be up to snuff.

The only reference I could find of someone using one of these steering wheels is here:

This person seems to be really happy with it. I was hoping another Legacy/Outback owner has tried it haha!

I do see what your saying about the risk in quality over the price difference. I will get my JDM STI steering wheel first, then decide which route I will go. Ill keep everyone posted as to what steering wheel I decide to buy!

  3. Hey all!

I will be installing an 08-14 STI steering wheel into my 06 OBXT. I will be doing that cruise control conversion and swap over my airbag module.

I am also thinking of using a D-Shaped steering wheel, but I do not want to spend upwards of $800 to $1000 CAD for a DAMD steering wheel. There is some cheaper "no name" options from Taiwan. The manufacture is "GOGOCARBON"

This will cost me a little under $600 CAD shipped.

Has anyone had any experience with one of these steering wheels? Is there any other cheaper D-Shaped steering wheel options that I do no know about? It is hard to find used DAMD steering wheels.

    Thanks everyone!

  4. Thanks! Agree on the T4R - mine just rolled over 200K but running strong and deals with the snow buildup we get here quite well.

Need to get some proper pics of the spec.B - but here's a couple quick shots post refresh:

That a clean Runner! Great choice in wheels, and the roof basket! Love the single color with the limited flares! My 4Runner is more so a beater haha, body is a bit rough but a great all year round vehicle!

The Subie is looking really clean! Love the BBS wheels! Bumper is fresh!

I wanted to ask (since I have a silver legacy too, and was looking for horns), what kind of horns did you buy for behind the grill? I couldn't find "silver" colored horns made by HELLA or SickSpeed.... Are yours white or silver? And where did you get them? What brand?

    Thanks!

  5. Been MIA from LGT.com for some time, but still have my spec.B. I've had all my JDM parts in the garage for a couple years after some help from valleylegacy, but got sidetracked with a 3rd gen 4runner sport edition, and projects associated with it.

Just got back from paint and been assembling what I can while I work on detailing the car. I had my JDM Rev. A-C GT front bumper (fog shrouds/tow hitch cover too), JDM Sport kit front lip cover, JDM grill surround, JDM sport kit side skirts with builtin strakes, JDM rear bumper, and JDM aero spats for rear all painted.

Also have a new set of 05 US headlight assemblies, K2 Gear CF front and rear Subaru emblems and a new windshield to complete the refresh.

Should have it all back together after the long weekend, and more pics of it completed to follow, but here's a sneak peak:

    looks so FRESH!

And those 3rd gen 4Runners.... They are bullet proof!!! I own one as well with over 400K Kms

Excited to see your Subie all put together!

  6. the gaz tank for sure ! it s bad !

the flange is rust and one of the hose came out when i touch it . in fact the rust start on the top , when usually there is no rust proofing sprayed and where sand /dirt accumulate .

turn me mad cause doing this job ,on a 10 year old rusty car, is looking for problem .

This is good to know. When I inspect my tank and fuel pump for leaks, ill keep this in mind!

Did you already replace the gas tank?
