To anyone stressing about the spacer for a group 34 battery to match the OEM battery height, don't worry about it. We installed a DieHard Platinum group 34 size (34-AGM) and it dropped in just fine. The bracket tightened down fine, the bolts are just at the bottom of travel. 2017 Legacy 2.5i.

Try replacing the DCM fuse (#9 in the box under the hood). People often pull it out to eliminate the starlink system battery drain - not realizing it impacts some other functions.

Try replacing them? Fuses are cheap.

Why not get proper snow tires? Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 or similar. No need for studs. All seasons are jack of all trades, master of none.

Just updated my 2017 Legacy (no Nav). Here is my before & after. Thankfully update #2 took on the first try it appears I kept the car running for each update. I didn't use a battery charger. I made sure the headlights, interior lights, etc. were fully OFF though. After the reboot & wait step, I just turned the key to ACC (didn't start the engine again). I would love to have a software option to default them OFF. Really annoying to hit the button every time I start the car.
