  1. I have kids too but that's what the wife's car is for lol. The legacy is staying in the family so it's more like I no longer drive it but I missed being in a wrx. This 2018 is so easy to drive after they made some clutch and suspension tweaks.
  2. I scraped my lip a handful of times and it's still on good shape so definitely it was a good buy!
  3. Looking at it it might make sense cutting and welding the legacy bottom to the sti damper. One weld instead of two it you extend the shaft but the real question is is it worth the headache? Is it that much of a difference compared to just the damper insert?
  4. Thanks for the info. I'll have to read thru that entire thread but I'm assuming due to the different length it won't be a bolt on affair? What do you mean install the lock down? I don't see the same design on the sti steering knuckle.
  5. Has anyone seen any info floating around whether the sti steering knucle will fit on our car? I guess I'm asking since this seems like a bandaid but if the sti part fits then maybe we will get better steering response.
  6. I'm assuming Subaru has done this already but do you know if they checked the ball joint for any free play? I know you said you installed tires after you did the h and r springs. Are you sure the alignment wasn't touched when the tires were done? I could see it being possible an alignment machine being out of calibration resulting in a bad alignment. Used to happen at a shop I worked at. When we got a few come back for alignments we suspected the alignment rack was out of calibration. When the toe is off it's usually easier to tell by driving the car because it will pull. When the camber is off it's usually less noticible. I've also seen guys doing alignments who have no idea how to do it properly and they screw it up. I've seen guys do alignments and as long as it doesn't pull they hand the keys back to the customer and never touch the alignment. I would say start with a print out of the current specs so you know how off it is. It's also possible you bent something from a nasty pothole..I've seen that too. Honestly I think Subaru is going down the road we expect them to. You changed parts so now you're responsible unless you can prove otherwise. Which is almost impossible. Share the spec sheet and we can try to help you from there. Not sure where you're located but Pep boys offers a free alignment check..they will put the car on their tack and show you the specs.
  7. From a warranty perspective I don't think you have much of an argument especially since you have aftermarket springs. They can't void your warranty but because you changed suspension parts they can argue you changed the suspension geometry, which you did.they can deny the suspension related claim. It's going to be an uphill battle. Have you tried getting the alignment checked by a local shop? I mean the alignment is like $75 or so at a local place and not worth the headache dealing with subaru. My car has 14k miles and I have h and r springs as well. I fully accept Subaru will give me the run around if I have an issue because I swapped out parts.
  8. Gloss black the stock grill and installed the eBay repilca lip. Just as a heads up the lip does come with screws but they are crappy. I just used some stainless steel screws instead which were more secure. The lip also comes with these t shaped rubber strips. They're for the sides of the kip where it touches the bumper. The double sided tape didn't seem to hold very well so I'll have to come up with a different solution. Also added some black vinyl under the headlights. Might redo it to cover the whole thing.
  9. The coating that comes on the lip won't hold up well especially to the sun. I've had another lip with the same finish and within a few months it became flat black changing to a dark gray instead of the original matte black.
  10. Just received mine today. I definitely agree with you on the quality. Honestly had I not known this was a replica I would believe it was a $400 lip! I am impressed by the quality and the experience with that seller on eBay. For $140 you can't go wrong at all. I don't know why anyone would spend $400 or more to get it from japanparts when the quality on this replica is so good. The finish is super smooth that it doesn't need to be painted but I'm probably going to paint mine gloss black.
  11. No disrespect to you- just constructive criticism but I think the red lip proector looked good in the renderings. Seeing it on your car I don't think it looks that great especially on your paint color. I think your car would look cleaner without it.
  12. I get what you guys are saying about it being too solid with nuts and bolts but I hate those plastic push connectors! They are always a pain in the ass to get off once they become hard and brittle. I've had good experiences on my other cars using nuts and bolts so I dunno what I'm gonna do yet. My lip should be here Wednesday.

  14. I'm thinking of putting a splitter under mine for this same reason. I'll see once I actually get it and take some measurements.
  15. He just messaged me saying he edited the price to include the shipping. I just bought one at $149 shipped. Two more left before they stop shipping from the US. The seller says they have about 30 total in their LA house but will not be shipping any more than these last 3 due to staffing issues. There is no known time frame to start shipping from LA again. Everything else will ship from Taiwan and be much more expensive due to shipping costs. Somebody grab the last 2!! Update: I sent him a screenshot of the lip at $139 on the previous listing and he credited my back the $10. Liking the customer service so far!
  16. Haha that's the same response they just emailed me. At $175 im not a buyer. Had they responded back to me last week when I asked if they had any pics of the actual item I would have bought it at $140. It's weird the new listing says free shipping but then says $25 shipping. Oh well. I replied back to see if he will honor the original price if not oh well I'm sure somebody else will start knocking it off soon.
  17. The original link said there were 6 available but now it's not even showing any. Did you buy all 6 to flip? Hahah
  18. You are awesome! Thanks for taking the risk and ordering lol. Please post an update when you install with any fitment issues. If everything is good I'll be ordering one too.
  19. I asked for pictures and didn't hear back but for this price I would buy it as well. Let us know how it goes.
  20. There is a seller on eBay selling what appears to be a fiberglass copy of the sti lip but doesn't have actual pictures of the lip itself which is why I didn't order it. But it's selling for around $120 and they claim they are a US vendor.
