  1. Well, I finally had to start pulling parts off of my Legacy, I miss her. My son (firstborn) was born on new years eve. And I picked up a 2001 Forester. So far have had to take the alternator suspension, brakes, wheels and tires. She has become a someday project, however I have an amazing wife who talked me out of taking it to the scrap yard because she knows I love this car.
  2. Do not try the 2016 BRZ radiator... I did it, fit is ok, but lower hose location is a few inches higher. Also, no trans cooler. Not worth the effort. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  3. Just placing a dream here... https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Enasioc%2Ecom%2Fforums%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D1323800&share_tid=1323800&share_fid=468&share_type=t&link_source=app Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Yesterday my 96 Legacy GT (Jo Lupo) died, for now. On the highway she lost a gallon of oil out the exhaust pipe and began a hard knock at 262800 miles. So, she will be stored until we finish the work on our house. Hopefully January I can start the disassembly process. This will over time lead to the next phase of her life with plans unresolved. 10. On the tire size, you will have to roll/pull your fenders. I run 235/60R16 and had to roll my fenders. I am on the cheap Konigs. Look up tire size and trim comparison calculators on google. We are definitely interested in watching your build and helping along the way as possible. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

  14. I figured I would update, my GT has not had any issues or needed anything other than general maintenance since June 2018. She is still my daily and still my favorite car. I got married 02/2019 and my wife and I set out to become debt free by following Financial Peace University offered through our church. So projects have been minimal. But, as we are debt free, and have saved most of our Emergency Fund I can start looking at next projects. So... I am looking at making a set of adjustable trailing arms to re center the wheel in the well. More info to come in the next few months. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  15. Did you put in new brake lines? Also, I would re-bleed the lines. The brake booster does not boost the power of the brakes, it reduces the power needed to press the brake pedal. If you did not replace the lines I would suggest stainless braided. They helped change the entire feel of my car. Also, if the 4 pot have more surface area in their pistons than the ones you took off they can actually have less braking force. In a hydraulic system if you have two pistons of equal size and you push one the other should move the same distance as the one you pushed. But if you double the area of one of the pistons, when you push the first piston the larger piston moves half as far. If however the second piston had half the area of the first piston and you pushed it the smaller piston would move twice as far. In this situation the master cylinder is the pushing piston. And the calipers are the pushed piston. If you make the pushed piston (calipers) larger then you lose some of the movement. This is the link to how I did my brake upgrade. https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5461728 Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

  18. I have been using a piece of 1/4" clear hard plastic over the tire well for years. Sold as a hard bathroom floor mat. Only down side is stuff slides around back there. I pulled all carpet and bedlinered due to water damage when I got my 96GT. (I had to pull the plastic out as my new full size spare does not fit completely in the wheel well. 235/60-16) I missed the part about replacing the carpet, LMC, Jegs, Summit Racing, or maybe a local carpet store might be a source for some carpet. I would use headliner spray adhesive to glue it down to whatever material you decide to make the new one out of. Also, keep a small scrap of the original carpet to match as best you can. 19. Not to sidetrack too far, but Brighton don't put too big of a radiator on these EJ motors. With the thermostat on the intake side my Mishimoto for a 2016 BRZ stays cool enough at 20F or bow that the thermostat does not open unless I block off most of the radiator. So, my motor overheats only when it gets cold outside. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

  23. Our motors are a pain to get all the bubbles out of. One of the easiest ways to do it is jack the front end up a foot or two and start the car, letting it get up to temp. You will then get all the bubbles out of everything. It still takes time that way, but it works. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  24. Replaced the alternator, mine died the Thursday of the major ice storms after I took my wife out for her first donuts on Wednesday. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
