  1. Do you guys think that the price of 24.8k is a good deal on a dealer loaner 3.6R 2019 with 5.8k miles? I am wanting to get back into the Legacy crowd. I used to have a 2015 legacy and now have a BRZ and while I do love how cute small sporty and good it handles, I’m getting really tired of manual and having zero interior space, I also want more comfort and “luxury” the 3.6R offers. I am a bit afraid of going back to legacy after having such good handling right now. One decent thing is the BRZ isn’t the fastest car so going to a 3.6R won’t feel much different I don’t think? Anyways I’m thinking of checking out that dealer car for sale soon. Should I stay away or is it no big deal that a ton of folks have driven it?
  2. This is in Oregon, we didn't used to salt roads until recently so the bottom shouldn't be too rusty. I have no idea what shop did it, waiting to hear back if they have a receipt for the job. I would try and inspect myself, get a clip board of everything to check while I go look at it. Good to know you'd get it if it passed an inspection and had decent tires. I will take note of all these things to look out for! Thank you!!
  3. I am interested in purchasing a 1999 subaru legacy 30th anniversary limited edition sedan that has 127k miles and they are asking $2500 for it. They said they got the timing belt and head gasket replaced around 115k miles, and that it didn't blow but had a leaky gasket. They say it runs fine. The pictures of it are very clean, I have not gone out to go see it. I am not sure if this is a good deal or not. https://images.craigslist.org/00O0O_lebdyrsBMsA_1200x900.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00J0J_6Ijgb8ZlCw8_1200x900.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00202_47UNkTW4IiU_1200x900.jpg Any advice on this purchase?
  4. I'd be interested to see how the turbo 2020 legacy drives vs the H6 2019. Or vs the CVT WRX.
  5. https://www.wilsonvillesubaru.com/our-newest-custom-subaru-a-lifted-legacy/ A dealer near me lifted a legacy and it looks pretty rad to me! Would be interesting if it had the Outback bumper! Pics are 1.5" Primitive lift.
  6. Hey guys I do you know if a 2015 2.5i nameless axleback muffler delete exhaust will fit in a 2010 2.5i legacy?
  7. Never visited this thread before, just thought I would post my simple set up. Took the Legacy out to the range, then and got a Ruger LCP II yesterday. I have yet to shoot the LCP II but wow do I love how easy it is to rack the slide. I got the shield around May and it's great. I went with a single stack because I thought it might be easier for me to carry without printing but now that I have been doing it for a while I wish I got a G26 or G19 instead. Oh well, it's a great pistol regardless, except the slide is damn hard to rack compared to other pistols I have handled. I have around 500 rounds through it and there is no change with the slide. The trigger on the LCP II feels a lot more satisfying to pull than the shield 9. I've been thinking about upgrading the shield's trigger though.
  8. Subaru parts has a $270 fog kit http://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_2015_Legacy/FOG-LAMP-KIT/60246418/H451SAL000.html Though it's better to piece it together yourself and get the bulbs and stuff you want.
  9. You got it my dude. It is cryptic and people never really give full details in this forum for anything and always tell you just to find it yourself. To get the tune, PM me and I can give you the guys info who will Tune you. I went through Matt at ThrottleHappy but apparently some guy here named XRT I think does tunes and is in this forum, but in my opinion Matt at TH has a more stable and refined tune. So you get the info for Matt that I or someone else gives you (a user here gave me the info when I inquired such as you are). You message him on FB and or email him, honestly its best to try all means of communication with Matt. He replies slow for various reasons, that's just in his nature but he's an awesome guy. Once you get a hold of him and to make sure he is responsive and able to tune, you will need to go to http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&product_id=17&vmcchk=1&Itemid=53 and buy this for $170. Then you need to download ECUFlash which you can find on that website at the top under Downloads. Make sure you have a laptop, I used one with Windows and you download ECUFlash to the laptop. When you get your tactrix cable email talk to Matt and he will email you some instructions on how to download your stock tune using that cable and the software. You basically plug the thing into your car and your laptop and download the tune (He will give detailed instructions, it's pretty easy). Once you get your stock tune files, you email them to Matt and he will send you a couple tune options and a couple other files that you put in that program and upload into your car. He will then get your feedback on the tunes he sent you and refine it a couple more times till your tune fits your needs such as if you want touchy throttle response or not, etc. He will ask you to pay him before he gives you the final good tune file, just paypal him I think it was like $175 USD or so. Someone correct me if I am wrong on that price. So you pay him and he emails you one of the final tune files, and you upload that to your car and you're set. That's the basic gist of it, but when you upload a new tune to the car you need to do a 'fuzzy reset' which is disconnect the negative battery terminal, step on the brake and drain the remaining electricity and then turn the car to On (this doesnt mean turn the car all the way on, it means into the On position) off then on off again, I forget how many times but I think Tigger made a thread on it, and that resets your ECU so it can learn your new tune then you drive for 20 minutes kinda regular then 10 minutes spirited. Sorry for the massive wall of text, PM me if you want some more details and questions!! I tried to write up the important stuff. As for my personal view on the changes, I had my throttle response changed to VERY touchy. At the faintest press of the pedal my car goes. I feel more low end torque, RPM's seem to ram up more when you gas it, it seems way more zippy in the city. I am driving a 2.5i, the 3.6R guys I think see even better of a response from the tune.
  10. Dang alright, maybe I'll email him and see if he will reply.
  11. Does anyone have any info on an updated tune? At the end of May Ryan you said there was a refined tune and E85, did you ever get that?
  12. The 2.5 outback gets the high torque cvt that the 3.6r gets, and the 2.5 legacy gets shafted?
  13. Hooray, I love it when people type these kinds of comments, they are so helpful! Oh it doesn't matter that we already have the Legacy, or that maybe we didn't want a wagon, or that the idea just came to us randomly after getting the Leagcy, thanks for being super helpful!!:lol:
  14. I want to do this too, no one would answer me so good luck... How much of a lift do you want? For me I am trying to get a simple 1.25" front/rear spacers so nothing too crazy, and I have been scouring ebay and the outback forum for the front bumper to match my color.
  15. Has anyone installed lift spacers on their 6th gen? http://get-primitive.com/spacers/262-lift-spacers-2010-legacyoutback.html#/front_lift_spacer_s-pick_your_size/lift_spacer_combo_se-pick_a_combo/rear_lift_spacer_s-pick_your_size http://andersondesign-fab.com/product.php?product=2010-2014-legacy-1-lift-kit-2 Something like those. I want to buy 1" lift spacers, but I heard about the rear two being multilink? Would I be able to simply buy those 1 inch lift spacers, plug them in, and then go get a wheel alignment and be good to go? Or do I need multilink for the rear and the regular simple spacer for the front? Would going above 1" look goofy on a Legacy? Thinking about converting into a sedan Outback...getting this lift and getting an Outback front bumper. I do a lot of rural driving and off road driving (yeah yeah why did I get a Legacy) and the extra ground clearance would be very helpful for me. Hoping I could do this lift myself then take it into the service shop for an alignment.
  16. Are you getting a new Legacy or are you leaving us??
  17. Factory stereo in the Prem is a POS. I pulled out all six speakers and replaced with some Rockford Fosgates, spliced in two LOC's behind the head unit, installed a 1200w 4 channel amp for all the speakers, then installed a 3400w amp for my 15" 2400w Soundqubed sub. It's like going from riding a 1 speed bicycle to a Suzuki Hayabusa. I am not an audiophile but one thing I have noticed (and am wondering if others notice this too) is that the sound is much more 'solid' when I play it through a USB device. If I play sound through an AUX cord or BT it doesn't punch as hard and isn't as solid. Always wondered about this.
  18. Has anyone installed Subaru Legacy Interior Trim Kit - Piano Black? Looks tempting. I have a premium with the beige interior, not sure if that would work well with this piano black trim. http://subaruonlineparts.com/subaru-legacy-interior-trim-piano-black-p-4358.html
  19. Yup, you just gotta undo...what is it 3 bolts on each side to take out the oem bar, then plug the new one in and put the 3 bolts on each side back on and drive away! Although I did hear a couple kinks the first time I drove around while the bar settles into place, then went back under and made sure the bolts kept tight.
  20. Is the tuning fad still goin on? I guess Mr. Cobbs just asked that.. I think I was lucky and got mine in right before it kinda dropped off it seems..I am still enjoying my tune quite well. I got new tires put on the other week, and the guy who had to drive my car from the parking lot to the garage told me my car was really fast when he pressed the pedal and that put a smile on my face. Matt made the pedal as touchy as a pregnant woman's emotions.
  21. I got my 2.5i tune in around two weeks ago and by now I have had enough time to get a real feel for it. I put the K&N drop filter in and did a fuzzy reset before I sent off my stock tune to Matt and that is the only performance mod I am running. Took around a week to get it all sorted with some revisions, and I am very happy with the tune (also did the fuzzy reset after getting the tune). Matt sent me two initial tunes with different throttle response, one with a very touchy response and the other with a very slow and mild response. The slow and mild was just a pain to drive, always putting my foot very far down to get anywhere, so I had him tweak the touchy throttle. I sometimes have to watch my foot because the car will tend to be launch happy. Low end torque is up significantly, and I see a massive difference in acceleration when running in a low gear on manual mode and hammering the gas. It really makes the car zip around. Higher gears at higher speeds I do notice increased power, and it puts a smile on my face going around the back country roads getting up close and personal with the throttle. Huge thanks to Tigger and BeastCoast for helping me directly with it!
  22. I was playing around with the update on my non-nav to see what might be fixed and I am no longer able to view my oil temperature (no number is displayed). That is really frustrating.
  23. Just updated my non-nav 7" successfully first try! Thanks for the guide Andrew! I don't have any time today to see if anything actually works from the update but I'll be checking it out more this weekend. As long as it fixes the guide lines on back up cam, and the bug where it wont detect USB music but still plays I will be happy!
  24. Thanks for the explanation. When you said he gives you back an xml file of the stock tune, and then another file for the new tuned ECU srf file, what do you do with the xml? Does this mean you can put the old stock tune back on your car and say...a dealership will be none the wiser? I emailed Matt today about getting a remote tune, but I really only want to do it if I can put the stock tune back in myself. Also I'll be honest I haven't had time today or the will to read the next 30 pages of replies to see if there is an answer for my question so don't hurt me
  25. Where did you buy your crankcase breather hose/coupler to make the Takeda CAI fit? I am unfamiliar with this part, so I am not sure if Subaru has its own specific one or if you can just use any rubber hose that fits? I'd like to buy this intake but I want to make sure I can get this hose issue down first!
