  1. Sat one car behind an 05-07 bsm lgt with black wheels, aftermarket exhaust (I think), and a Washington state plate a little after 6pm, intersection of Rt27 and New rd in Kendall Park. We waved, eyed each other's cars, and both turned left onto New Rd, but I had to head back to my place - didn't have time to catch up and play.

Was this last week? Pretty sure it was you I saw. You had a few people in your car. I went left on 27, you were waiting for the light to go right or straight .

  2. Today's wet race at Leman's was amazingly exciting . Was standing up in my living room watching the Stoner vs Rossi battle. Glad to see the two shake hands after the race.
  3. I use a line level output. Before playing audio I must lower head unit volume to level 4 or 5. If I skip that step I risk blasting myself out of my seat!

Guess I overlooked the 12db boost before install. If a -12db 3.5mm inline attenuator can be sourced,I would be all over that.

For me the line level output is preferred,as it remains constant. The signal itself is probably cleaner as well, being at pre amp level.

  4. I also use a 30pin / 3.5mm line level out cable. Can't adjust output up or down when using this style cable.

Sometimes the audio does have a "static" like quality. Very dependent on the material being played.

CD's imported into I tunes .......very small percentage has the poor sound.

Podcast ...............................so far always sound good.

Music purchased thru I tunes....have not noticed any that sound poor.

I think some of the CD's may have imported into I tunes at different levels. Don't have any other MP3 devices to test with, just Ipod.

  5. 125 / 250 / 500cc 2 strokes 990 / 800cc 4 strokes. Rossi will go down in history as the only person to have won world championships in all those classes.

The current 800's with all the electronic rider aids, allows more of the 250 style riders to stay closer to Rossi these days. Remove those aids and go back to 990's. Rossi would continue to win championships till he was 50!

  6. Gmachine - 5th gear? My car doesn't seem to make the noise in higher gears - only lower ones. I would have suggested trying the dyno test in a lower gear, not a higher one.quote]

5th gear for me. I am at stage 2+ not dyno tuned. Can't explain why my car is this way for sure, but i have given it some thought. It's as if what ever is loading up and "growling" in the driveline. Has more time in top gear to load up as the engine pulls through the rev band. If i start at 65-70mph i get no noise.

In the lower gears i have tried to replicate this at various rpm start points, but the car just accelerates smoothly to redline with no issues.

  7. I wonder if i or anyone can replicate this problem on a 4 wheel dyno?

It would help so much if someone could look at, and listen to the car while this is occuring. For me as i have posted above, 5th gear cruise at 60mph... plant foot wait for boost to come in and Bingo! Driveline growl.

Start this pull from a higher speed, say 75mph and there is no growling.

Posted that many pages ago. Don't know if this can be done, since most dynos are in doors where it is warmer. If your tuner wants to give it a shot put 2 guys in the backseat and go for it. I suggest a 5th gear pull starting at 50/55/60 MPH. That is when this happens for me.

  8. Some of the post in this thread describe the "Growling" as a noise issue.

I think some may be experiencing something other than what this thread was started for, and posting in here about noises. In my case the "Growling" is preceded by a "Vibration" which can be felt through out the chassis.

If you think you have the Growling,do you also have the Vibration????

Anyone know or hear of any 07+ Spec B's with this noise? Please no lame ass jokes about Specs. I ask because they have the 6 speed and possibly different drivetrain / rear axle components.

  10. I do not think it has anything to do with any exhaust related parts. Something in the driveline is loading up.

5th gear cruising @60mph if i stomp on it, boost will come up and the car will shudder and make a rumbling noise underneath. The engine pulls nice and smooth but something between the flywheel and rear tires is causing this.

4th gear cruising @60mph if it stomp on it,boost hits and the car takes off fast and smooth with no vibrations from the chassis or body.

  11. Bumping for any updates.

I can reproduce this vibration/noise at will. My car has full suspension mods; coilovers etc. This problem never surfaced when running stock engine tune.

Once the car went stage 2+ it has become an issue. Cruise in 5th ,get into boost and the vibration gets louder as the revs/load increases.

One strange thing i do notice is,if i do a 1st gear accel run mid way thru 5th gear. The vibration / noise does not occur. Thinking the loads must be different for the drivetrain dependant on the RPM / Gearing / Torque levels.

Pretty picture of JDM Spec B diff support unclemat posted about,we all like pretty pictures right:lol:.
