  1. I was thinking of these. If not, then maybe a black set with machined facing. Too much gray?

I like it, and I think the grey looks better than black. Here's the BBS that's on mine in case you haven't seen it earlier in the thread. It looks black but it's actually anthracite.

Btw, it seems like the largest size available on that American Racing wheel is 17", is that what you wanted? I got 19"s but I wish the BBS came in 20"s.

  2. So for the Carbide Gray paint, would a set of "Anthracite" rims match pretty good? Or, would that be too much gray?

Also, I saw the posting of OEM wheel sizes, but where are the load ratings of the OEM rims?

Personally, I thought it was too much grey, hence why I got the BBS SR in machined face instead.

  3. Agree 100%. If I was putting new wheels on my car now I'd be looking at running a 19x8.5 rim with a 245/40R19 tire combo.

The only problem with this size is that there are no OEM options as the largest OEM rim is 18's at the moment. So you're into aftermarket rims.

I'm a big fan of OEM+ look and not making something too customized - though that's just personal preference and also with an eye for resale later down the track.

Wish the BBS SR i got came in 20", 19" still looks small.

  4. That's because they are "pre-aimed" by Subaru to illuminate corners as you turn. Apparently they thought they could slip that by and make them blink on when turning and call it "steering responsive" and we'd all be fooled into thinking they actually move like in higher end cars...well, I guess it worked, because even the tech guy at my dealer was thinking that it meant they move, until I clarified for him. :eye roll:

Steering response, one fog light illuminates the corner as you turn. You would think both fogs on would provide more illumination.

  5. Depending on how you approach the dealership some will do the TPMS coding for free. I went to three dealerships across the course of two weeks and finally one was able to do it without an appointment and ended up doing it for free because they said it is so quick there is no need to charge. I think it took less than ten minutes and they didn't need to pull it into the shop. Just did it in the covered parking outside of the service entrance. Don't ask on a Saturday! :)

That's exactly how mine was done! It was on a a Saturday morning so I definitely lucked out. They did earn a positive Yelp review from me for their generosity.

  6. Go where you had them installed, usually cheaper. I am switching back to my non-snow set up next week, Discount tire will be $150 cheaper than the local dealership.

$150!? He already has the new wheels installed and they already have TPMS on them, the dealership or whichever tire place just need to take a reading of the new TPMS and program the IDs to the car.

  7. Picked up some Fresh Takeoffs from the latest WRX model. Swapped out my factory steelies for the 17x8 +55 rims. Way better look IMO.

Question for you guys: TPMS light came on, seems I need to have them re-learned to the ECU ( new rims had factory TPMS sensors still attached ). Dealership or should I go back to the tire shop?

Also what are the specs for the studs so I can buy new lug nuts (thread pattern) I have found it listed around at 12x1.25 and 12x1.5

    Thanks!

Local dealership here was generous enough to program mine for free! It took them 5-10 mins, they'll read the new TPMS IDs with a special tool, them reprogram the ECU.

  9. You'll be 100% fine. kayslay's wheels are same spec (19x8.5) with +35 offset so "poke" 15mm more than the ET50 you're looking at and he had no rubbing at stock height.

If I was getting wheels again I'd go with a 19" as there's still a lot of tyre sidewall with 18's.

    It's ok, I've ordered the BBS SR 19x8.5 et45.

Maybe on a gen5 but us gen6's have a lot more room under our guards.

  10. Wheel: Miro Type 111

    Specs: 19x8.5 +35

    Tyres: Nankang AS-1 235/40r19

Suspension: RS-R springs, dropped 1.2 inches on the front, .5 in the back

These have been posted a couple of pages back but the lowering now set it off. On point kayslay!

Not to be redundant but i'm in love with the Type 111 Limited Edition, even after lowering, are you rubbing in any way at all? Thanks
