  1. I spoke with the dealership today. A Subaru engineer looked at the vehicle and said there is no issue. They compared it to a couple of other Legacy’s with less mileage, and said they make the same noise. Apparently it’s normal. At least I know it’s safe.
  2. 5k! I wish. I have almost 48k on my 20’. Getting my $$ with though.
  3. Hey all, when I am parked with the car running, if I grab the steering wheel and turn it back and forth in quick, short motions, I hear a clunking noise. The dealership said everything is good. I disagreed, so I had the tech sit in the car with me as I did it. They will now be contacting an engineer for the car to look at it at the dealership. I told them my 2016 Legacy had the recall done back around 2017. It made the same noise from the same actions. I feel like it’s the same issue. I’ll let you know when it’s all checked out, what they find. Anyone else have this same issue?
  4. I swapped the front door speakers only. The kit comes with an amplifier.
  5. I’m glad you think it was worth it too. I really is a huge improvement. Enjoy the new sound!
  6. I did remove the cluster and shift knob. I can’t remember the directions for the shift knob removal. I believe you need to remove the clip holding the leather boot to the knob. Then there is a clip or something you disengage to remove the knob. I found it online somewhere.
  7. I think the seat may be difficult to remove. I was going to do that too, but the bolts were mega tight, so I decided to leave it. The most difficult part was getting the harness under the carpet. I cut some of my carpet to make it easier. Nobody will ever be able to see where I cut it.
  8. If you want to remove the plastic that covers the eyesight, there are two bolt/screws inside the glasses holder. Remove them, and carefully pry it off. I did that bc I have 2 dash cameras and wanted the wiring more secure when I added the 2nd one.
  9. I had a 16 2.5 premium and now own a 20 sport 2.5 I’ve had for 19 months. I’m happy with the car. I like the sport mode. It’s not faster, it just drives different with higher rpms before shifting. Overall, I like almost everything better about the car. The remote start with the app is awesome. The only thing I’d change is the leather strip down the middle of the seat. Your back can get a little hot in the summer, but I guess that’s what the AC is for. Haha. To me it’s worth it. I didn’t get the XT bc of price. I can’t lease. I drive way too many miles, and I refuse to pay over $500/month for a car. Lol
  10. Sounds like I’ll have to give stoptech a try. Did you guys put new rotors on too? I think you’re supposed to do both at the same time?
  11. Whitetiger, sounds like I could try some brakekleen. Motorbreath, I could give it a hard stop or two, but I have a feeling it will make it worse.
  12. Why can’t Subaru make better brake rotors? I’d expect cheap aftermarket rotors to warp, but not OEM rotors. My 16 Legacy had the brake rotors warp at least twice. No other vehicle I have ever owned has had this issue. I had 7 vehicles before my first Legacy. My 16’s rotors warped in the first 24k. My 20 has 34k on it, and they are warped now too. I hate the idea of buying stock rotors and just waiting for them to warp again. If I slammed on the brakes at 90mph, I would understand, but I don’t. Anyone else experiencing warped rotors?
  13. No, the rear speakers stay. You could obv replace them. I did the fade to the rear and front to see if the rears sounded distorted when the stereo was turned up. They sounded better than I thought they would. I will likely not even bother replacing them.
  14. Imo it was well worth it. The bass is way better than I expected. The kit comes with everything you need. The main harness, amplifier, new front 6x9’s. You literally just need a 10mm wrench and a Phillips head. I would def do it again.
  15. Yes, I’m pretty sure it does have the speed volume control.
  16. I’m really happy with the upgrade. Bass is certainly better, and there is def more volume now. I’m not looking to rattle windows, so this is perfect for a stock upgrade with no hacking of wires. If anyone is thinking of doing this, here are my tips. One, the head unit needs to be unbolted, but you do not need to disconnect every wire/harness like the directions say. It just isn’t necessary. Two, when you remove the center console, there are two small bolts near the seatbelts. Out the seat all the way forward, and these are super easy to get to. Three, the only real pain in the ass is routing the harness under part of the carpet to come out under the passenger seat where to amp will sit. I cut my carpet. It’s completely unnoticeable. It was so hard to get the two connectors under and through. I fished a piece of copper wire from a 14/2 electrical wire to tape the harness though to help guide it through. It’s actually quite funny how small the magnets are on the stock speakers. They could probably hold a post it note on the fridge. Lol
  17. I just bought an extended warranty from Concord. It starts when the factory warranty expires. I bought a 4 year/120,000 mile $0 deductible warranty for $1400. The company was rated number 1 from what I found.
  18. It sounds like the window thinks something is in the way like an hand, so it opens back up.
  19. Wow, I never thought of the Legacy being discontinued. I see a decent amount of 2020’s. I don’t see a ton, but enough. I just don’t see the sport model. I do see a lot of Outback’s and Foresters though.
  20. Hey everyone, how many miles are on your legacy? I have 28,000 on my 19 sport. I have not seen a single sport model on the road since I got mine in November of 2019. Have any of you seen sport models on the road? Do that few people buy them? Lol
  21. I use a 3 ton jack on the jack points behind the front tires and in front of the rear tires. I’ve heard you can jack ip the rear under the differential, but I’ve never tried it. If I were to try it, I’d prob put a piece of wood between the jack and differential. I rotate my tires just using one jack and 2 jack stands. Takes about 15 minutes or so.
  22. Yesterday I disconnected my CarPlay and none of the radio settings would work, Sirius, Fm, etc. So annoying. I’ve even had my radio be on and have no sound through the speakers. Only way to fix it is to turn the car off for about a full minute or two. It’s BS.
  23. Go check out Subie stickers. I got my red overlays from that guy. He uses quality materials. I’ve had my overlays for a year now, and they are in excellent condition. 23,000 miles of driving on them.
  24. I like the look of CarPlay since iOS 14.1 update. So far, so good.
