  1. Personally, I'm going with an AVO dry panel filter. Supposedly gives you the benefit of a louder intake noise (which I like for rev-matching and engine feel purposes) with maybe a slight decrease in air-flow resistance in the stock intake. Plus it's reusuable and cheap.

P.s. Godwhomismike - Perhaps the SPT intake simply heatsoaked you more, and you are feeling the effects of a cooler intake charge? From what I understand, the SPT intake basically draws air from the back of the engine bay, not exactly a cool-air place.

Sorry for a "late question", but i'm still new to the Subie world......(well, post 1980....my dad's car was a 1980 GL wagon...)

anyway, is the AVO drop in the same or better than a K&N drop in?

  2. HID Reverse? Really?

Yeah, they make them....for the reverse...but I think I might just get LED bulbs...OR do what this guy did on uh...you'll laugh.....PriusChat. He installed an LED light bar under the rear bumper, but further forward (like near the rear wheels).....he had extremely dark tint like I do...and even w/ the tint the light bar helped him see better... But, I'm still thinking about things....

  3. Not knocking the authentic JDM ones, I love how "Subaru" is molded into the visor. And I know they're really good quality (and still my first pick)...and I will continue trying to buy them from partsouq... however, it's beginning to look like i'll never be able to get them...and looking for another option. I did find this C&C CarWorks one, but it's only held on by 3M tape..... and it's $100 shipped. They're last on my list of three...

At least any option I pick is cheaper than the set I got for my Acura TL... those set me back quite a bit at $220 shipped, and they're even more expensive now.. $300 shipped...these were also authentic JDM (Honda of Japan Accessories)...

xtea, if you wanna help get the ball rolling on these WellVisors, call 'em and tell them you want the 4th gen wagon option...they did have the ones for the 3rd gen available...

  4. ok, I've been trying the last year or so to get my hands on these and I just found a vendor (sorry, not on here)... they sell similar quality...ONLY for the sedan, but I asked if they got enough requests for wagons that they'd get started on them... They're around $88 and they're a local (to me, in SoCal) company.

They're called Well Visors. They have clips (just like the JDM ones) and the tape too... guess I can keep trying to get the JDM Subaru ones but it's been problematic (at best) to get my order in since it appears they only stock 2 or 3 at one time...

Sedan verson is only $82.99USD w/ free shipping (probably only for continental US)

  5. So I did something similar to this...I bought one of those flat panel LED light pods, double stickied it to the windshield in the center area, and then wired it to the rear dome light....which also has an LED. So I didn't even touch the OE map lights (which also are LED)... Only lights left that are incandescent are the front door courtesy lights....and the high beams...and the reverse lights...or is HID reverse a better option?? Considering I have 5% tint in the rear 5 windows...
  6. The stock head unit is 4 x 12W RMS @ 0.1% THD (with a tailwind, downhill). Any claims of greater power are full of ummm... optimism.

Is this the same for the P-204UN stereo? I have a no frills HU (P-201) in my 06 SE wagon.... guess i will have to look for speakers with high sensitivity that still fit.....

also, I went w/ the iSimple IS32 wired modulator. Not quite as good as direct connection, but way much better than ANY and ALL wireless modulators I have tried.....

  7. Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I'm not sifting through 44 pages to double check...

Renner motors port moved from their Manchester Blvd location. I went when I had the now late Ivo perform work on my vw. This was around the time they started working on subies?

    Anyway, here's new address:

    324 W Florence Ave

    Inglewood, CA 90301

  8. Ok, so here's what my plans are for my 06 legacy wagon

Lows: DDM Tuning's 55w Ultra kit w/ 5500k bulbs (no yellow)

Highs: considering the rare Ness off the HIRs, I'm considering going LEDs, but don't know who to buy them from....

Fogs don't apply yet, as the original purchaser of this car didn't want them.

I bought this car last Friday.....also waiting to see what the original ride height is (made own thread in the suspension forum....)
