  1. I worked for Speedway. They bought out SuperAmerica and proceeded to treat us like hot garbage. There's only one manager I worked with that still works for them out of 12 of us. Our boss intentionally lied to us about a number of things that made it insanely difficult to run our stores. Near my friend, the only Speedways are franchises who treat customers like garbage. Also, when they bought SA, they stopped selling Top Tier fuel at our locations. So that's my issue with them, at least the abridged version.
  2. I'm sure fuel is a heated topic around here, but a conversation with a friend has me wondering a few things. Around here (south central Minnesota), the highest octane we have available is 91. Our options are Speedway (lol nope), Kwik Trip, and Holiday. No Shell, no BP, no Chevron, etc. Speedway is out for many, many reasons. Kwik Trip's 91 is sold as "recreational fuel only" in Minnesota (high performance vehicle fuel in Iowa and Wisconsin) and contains no ethanol. Holiday's 91 does have ethanol. Both fuels are Top Tier. He was told to stop using Kwik Trip's fuel after his engine ran rough using it and has since switched to Holiday's fuel with no issues. He was told the lack of ethanol was a contributing factor. Does ethanol really make that much of a difference?
  3. Gotcha, that makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification.
  4. Thanks for the advice everyone. One question though, Amazon lists the [ame=http://amazon.com/Red-Line-75W90NS-Gear-Quarts/dp/B0041EG0KU]Redline 75w-90ns[/ame] as for limited slip, is that correct? I'll hopefully be tackling this sometime next week. Maybe I'll have myself a nice Christmas present!
  5. I'm sure this has been done to death, but I'm about to replace the clutch in my 2009 Legacy 2.5i 5MT. Does anyone have any tips to make it easier or what I should avoid? I do have a replacement flywheel, clutch kit with both bearings, and a rear main seal. I'm also thinking I should replace the transmission fluid, since it'll be easier to drain it and pull off the driveshaft before I drop the transmission. Any recommendations on which gear oil to use? If I'm in here, I might as well do it all and do it right.
  6. The local Chevrolet dealer has a 2010 Outback with a few problems, but they're listing it for dirt cheap. The minor things are a burned out bulb and a missing fog lamp. The salesman was kind enough to let me use my scan tool to pull the codes out of the ECU. P0028 Intake Control Solenoid bank 2 (VVT solenoid on the back side of the engine) is another easy fix. And there's a leaking oil pressure sensor for the VVT on the front, another easy fix. But that brings me to the worrisome part. Out of the ABS system, I pulled C0057 and my scan tool just lists it as "ECM Control System". Could this be related to the VVT issues or is this something deeper?
