  1. I think it would be a blast for the user to be able to turn off shift points at will.
  2. Oh... You mean globalization. I think the Japanese brands figured this out before others. (BTW... EVERYONE now shares tech. Look under the hood or at your dashboards). ;-) And yes... i also drive an Italian car with some Bosch electrics.... LOL:lol:
  3. Sorry.. Misread part of the original post at 4AM BC. (Before Coffee).
  4. I use 17" 225/55R-17 BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK WS80s in the winter on less expensive wheels. Packaged from Tire Rack with 3 more pounds of air to adjust for the higher sidewall. More pothole protection here in DC.
  5. Thanks. Just prefer the minor mods I'm doing to stay Subaru. (Except for the stock lamps. But the headlights stay stock) ;-)
  6. Will the STI bar fit a Gen 6 Legacy? Are there good US sources?
  7. I replaced mine from stock. 5 minute job. I believe the rear covers come off clockwise if I remember. I like the OSRAM XENARC 66440's better for visibility, (mine), in rain.
  8. I love that people expect cars to be toasters. I DID have one wheel bearing fail, a victim of DC potholes. My 40 year old FIAT and other cars got wheel bearings at LEAST every 25K.
  9. Most of the issue I had with the HIDs in my 2016 were the lamps. Lights vanished in the rain. Reflectors in my lights are best with proper lamps. LED lights ARE different.
  10. Even without pushing the car, the sway bar made a huge difference for me. I came from an Alfa Romeo and 2 BMWs that always felt anchored to the road. Since the Legacy isn't really designed as a sport sedan it feels a bit light. (Of course my wife loves her forester and always HATED driving my European cars).
  11. I did the same. I use 17" Blizzaks for winter tires. More sidewall to better avoid DC potholes.
  12. I was happy with the upgrade. I suppose the car was fine without it but I was daily driving European sport sedans for years that felt glued to the road. I found the roll disconcerting. My wife on the other hand likes the lighter feel. (She had a Saturn Vue now a Forester).
  13. How about using a photocell switch in parallel with the garage door opener push button. Let car lights activate. https://www.amazon.com/Solu-Photosensitive-Resistance-Headlight-Photoelectric/dp/B00ZWPKKJE
  14. Just had rear brake pads changed with my winter/summer tire swap. (Boy those pads are tiny).
  15. The Sirius categories issue was fixed with a firmware update. It was something that SXM changed that messed up some non-SXM receivers.
  16. My 2016 came with one. It's resting in the tool well now.
  17. Drove Italian cars for years with NO cup holders. Italians consider driving and drinking coffee to be two unique and separate experiences... ;-)
  18. I was actually talking about disabling the programmed fake shifts. Just thought it would be fun to have continuous acceleration sometimes and actually take advantage of gearlessness. (Is that a word)? :-) Cheers.
