  1. Standard routine for me is to start the car, then seat belts, then mileage log, sunglasses, lights, etc as appropriate. Getting through that routine is plenty to make sure the turbo has oil. Then driving gently is the best way to warm it up (or so I've been told)
  2. I was lucky and got offer to test vaccine a few months ago - so I jumped the line on the inoculation fiasco.
  3. I replaced axle boots on a half shaft years ago. It was more of a struggle that replacing a tire with old style tire irons. If I face that kind of job again, I'm just getting an axle...
  4. Sounds to me like you're working through left over issues from the guy who did the swap - it was "95% complete" Did you get a complete description of all he had done? File of receipts/records?
  5. When I bought this turbo Baja it regularly made a clunk from firewall area when engaging the clutch. PO had installed an aftermarket pitch stop, and it just wasn't tightened. Snugged up its bolts to cure the problem. So yeah, check out engine and trans mounts as well.
  6. I didn't see the transmission dipstick on my Baja (turbo/manual) till I pulled the intercooler for some other work. Don't think I want to check it on a hot engine. Yes, I did find it in the owners' manual first... It's still hard to see and no place I want to grope around on a hot engine.
  7. Left front fender for 2005 Baja, need the steel fender itself, plastic outside trim, and plastic fender liner.
  8. Oh,right, the tires and wheels are stock, tire size 225/60R16
  9. Just went through this on my Baja - but the other direction. Rreplaced the original struts with Legacy to lower the little truck. Here's a pic of the struts side by side.
  10. Just bought a 2005 Baja, but asking the question of the third gen group because my understanding is that Subaru did not change the body in 05. PO had a big dog that left lots of toenail scars on the right rear interior door panel - the handle and top edge. Are these panels common to Legacy or Outback? Thanks for the advice.
  11. I'd be interested in the headlights, just bought a Baja. None of the rest of the lights would do me any good. What's $150 Canadian, about $110 US?
  12. You say you toggle the switch through all heat levels. When you do that, do the switch lights follow your toggle? That would mean the switch is working and the controller itself has failed. Not sure if that's included in the body computer, or a separate piece.
