  1. If you're having poor light output, it could be that the bulbs are not installed correctly. i am blown away by how many i've found that just weren't installed right. it's really not that difficult to align the tabs...

Thanks for the suggestion, i just checked and they are aligned well.

  2. This is what I got for my 2018 Limited which came with Halogens:

They made huge difference. Prior to that, I ran H9s which I modified to fit the wiring connector. I also upgraded the high beams to LED, but it really didn't make a difference. You just swap these in for the bulbs that at there now.

According to the 2016 Legacy Brochure, the 2.5i Limited did not have any special headlights -- only the 3.6R:

Thank you very much for the response, what’s the difference between these leds and the ones on amazon? The price difference seems huge and just want to understand if you may explain. It seems like i have the halogen and not HID.

  3. I have a 2016 Subaru Legacy limited 2.5i and at night it's hard to see if on back roads or really dark roads. I heard I can upgrade to LED, would I just change my bulbs, or would I have to change the whole headlight? Sorry, new to this and trying to see what are the best options. I searched the forums but got more confused because some are replacing bulbs and some aren't. I think i have halogens but not sure, how can i tell? Any advice would be highly appreciated, thank you!
  4. No sir. The SSD Intake actually has an option for you to choose K&N as the included filter. So with that...

1.) you get the intake hose and filter you want in one shot

2.) you get to reuse both halves of your stock airbox (less assembly). The Takeda TR4303-P comes with a heat shield to replace half of the airbox. Nothing to difficult but just an extra step. The only difference really between them is one has a cone filter Vs. stock sized panel filter. And I could be wrong but it looks like the SSD intake hose is plastic Vs Takeda which is aluminum(?).

Thank you very much for the help, takeda intake has the covering over the filter to hopefully avoid water and so being sucked into the engine. I did not see something like that on the SSD but maybe wrong. It is cheaper and with kn filter but i am worried about anything getting into the engine.

  5. Before someone inevitably tells you to use the Search function (though that's a good idea), let me briefly say that:

    - the aFe Power Takeda intake you're presumably referring to should indeed keep water and gunk out of your engine at least as well as the stock airbox. My 2.5 is also my daily driver (and my only car, actually), and I just ordered a Takeda intake.

    - you should probably read more reviews from those of us who have used various sway bars before biting the bullet. At least the 19mm and 20mm are priced similarly so cost isn't a differentiator. Go any thicker and the cost jumps. But if you're worried about 20mm being too thick vs the 19mm, don't because the 22mm one I'm using doesn't feel extreme at all.

    - if you're primarily interested in performance, and bang for buck is important, you might want to consider just getting your ECU tuned instead of worrying about intake and exhaust. Check out the 6th Gen Tuning Thread for valuable info.

Will check it out, even if i get the filter and air intake it would not hurt as well as ecu tuning. I will look at the reviews and see what to get shortly, thank you for the help. Its my only car as well, i will probably do the kn filter and intake for now then slowly start doing more to it.

  6. Hey Guys, i am new to the forum just been reading up on this thread. I love my 2016 legacy 2.5i limited, it runs wonderful just want it to accelerate better and am always interested in modding and tweaking things. I had a few questions, i wanted to get the kn filter, the sway bar and the cold air intake. Questions are which sway bar to get? the one for 19MM or the 20MM. I thought there was one on the list but i saw this one as well, not sure which one to pick. For the cold air intake the black covering will that protect it from inhaling water and destroying my engine? I drive this car all year long, its my daily driver. Trying to make it better and hopefully later get a nameless exhaust. Thank you for any help guys.
