Haha thanks, laz! Sorry, didn't really have time for any filters. I also submitted while at a red light lol

I found a total of 4 fire stations near me, but none of them had the fire trucks out to wash them or anything. I didn't think they'd appreciate me asking "hey guys, would you mind pulling the fire trucks out of their bays so I could take some sweet pics of my car with them?!". I'm going to give one more a try this afternoon - they wash their trucks pretty often, so I might get lucky. Don't count on it, though! Hopefully he has a save ready!
-
I thought about asking around if anyone had any toy fire trucks, but didn't think you all would appreciate that

Not only was it raining this morning, but they had all the fire trucks locked away ;(
Next time I guess I'll have to be more creative on how to get them to bring out a fire truck
-
I went by 3 different Firehouses yesterday, and they all had their fire trucks in the garage with the doors closed. I did pass a fire truck on the interstate, but I didn't think they'd appreciate me blocking traffic to get a picture.
I have one more I'm going to try tomorrow morning... Fingers crossed they have a truck outside!

I thought we weren't supposed to reuse old photos? I could have sworn I saw that same photo earlier in this thread by Greenie.
The chaos going on in this thread lately!

Technically didn't the previous challenge state "**on** a covered bridge", so it's not really a save? That was one of the things that kept me from just driving to one alone - needed someone to drive the car/get out an take the picture, so I didn't risk blocking the bridge
Regardless, I look forward to the new challenge, since "historical building" has already been done!

Sadly I won't have the opportunity to partake in this challenge. The nearest covered bridge that still allows traffic is over 45 minutes from me, and tonight I will be going to dinner with the CTO of our company >.<
Hopefully someone else can complete the challenge before Boz has to save himself!

Damn, you must be a mind reader. I was planning on making this a challenge sometime soon. Now I have to go out of my way to find a covered bridge, rather than wait and take a picture while I'm already near one
My CTO is in town the rest of this week, so I don't know what evenings I'll be working late. I'll do my best, but no promises!

Yeah, sorry... I actually had a brewery all picked out to stop at on my way home yesterday, but got stuck in meetings at work, and wasn't able to
I'll be sure to participate in the coming challenge, if I can! Hopefully it's posted within the next hour or so, so I can participate on my way home!

Nope, although I've only done it once... I had to kind of bend over to make sure i was yanking on the right thing, but that's not too bad.
Awesome! I went ahead and ordered a 64GB one last night can't wait to get it!

Mehilovich I found the shuffle button to be a three way toggle.
1. No shuffle
2. Shuffle in the current folder.
3 Shuffle the entire drive.
Hope this helps.
Good to know!! I read that shuffle and repeat (repeat just this song, this entire folder) are supposed to work this way in the manual, but I haven't seen a function that actually works this way, yet... Bluetooth, "iPod" (my phone plugged in via USB). I think I'm gonna give this a try sometime this week... I just need to decide if I want to get a 64GB, or 128GB. >.> decisions, decisions.

I picked up one of these to test with:
I filled it all the way up with my mp3 collection and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it works! My directory structure is each album gets its own directory, sorted into genre folders. So it goes about 2 layers deep in most cases, with up to 30 songs in each.
The first index took about 2 minutes, but now it takes about 30 seconds until all the music is loaded and I can get to anything. The fact that it resumes from the last point is a HUGE plus. Listening to something as it indexes is nice. Shuffle works well for me too.
I haven't yet turned it off near the end of a song. I guess if it's that big of a deal you could just pause it for a few seconds until indexing is finished? I don't know, since I'm on shuffle most of the time I don't mind the 1st song of the 1st directory playing, after all it will just continue shuffling after that. Or maybe I'm missing something? I'll go test it.
This is an awesome little flash drive, too... I might have to pick one up! My only concern would be trying to take it out, since my hands are so big and clunky x_x Do you have any trouble removing it from your console?
-
I thought the way it was explained was that the "Shuffle" function would shuffle songs within the current directory... So let's say you're in the "Streetlight Manifesto > The Hands That Thieve" directory shuffling all songs of that album, but it gets to the end of the song and then jumps to "Avenged Sevenfold > Avenged Sevenfold > Critical Acclaim", then you just got taken to a whole separate Genre, artist, and album, which normally wouldn't have been part of your typical "Shuffle".
Hopefully I explained that clearly enough...

Interesting. I don't drink, but I have friends to go to some MicroPubs/Breweries nearby. I'll see what I can get!

It's been super cloudy and rainy, and with my battery issue, I haven't even been able to drive my car since Sunday ;( I'll be sure to participate in the next challenge, if I can! Thanks for saving, Nybz!
-
Really? Whenever I've done that, when starting the car up again, it just resumes playing the song at the exact spot that it was playing when I last turned off the engine. Unless you mean it'll play the first song in that directory after that song finishes...
Which I can't remember, because the gawd damn thing just keeps playing the same 10 songs in a directory of about 300 songs on shuffle!!!!
Yeah, he meant that if the car restarts a song that's almost done playing, and finishes that song before it's done indexing, it will start playing the 1st song in the 1st directory. Others have noted that as well, which would be super freaking frustrating....
All this really doesn't seem worth the headache! Looks like I'll just stream music from my phone on Google Play Music if I want to listen to something while I'm out and about. It's the company's data I'm using anyway, so who cares! (jk.. I do care, but I barely ever use data anyway, so the little I do use with Google Play Music won't even be noticed)
-
So once it's done with "playlist1" the head unit automatically goes on to "playlist2", rather than going on to an artist, album or song?
Rather than randomizing the songs before copying them over, couldn't you use "shuffle" on the head unit? Or does it not work very well for you, or repeat certain songs, as others have noted?
I'd love to have my entire music library available in my car, but I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the hassle. :/ At least for every-day use..
