  1. Yeah I don't want to ruin the legacy(ness) of it by making it too stiff but the stock height bilsteins make me tower above all as if it were an outback haha. The girlfriends GTI is making my car feel like a barge haha

I understand. I went pretty low (but not fender rolling low) with a set of Prova and the car looked good! The Bilstein/Swift combo is a great compromise though.

  2. Love this look mate... very clean lines and beautifully matched rims.

The way you've got this looking, I'm *almost* swung around to liking the bonnet without a scoop... I've always liked the low profile scoop on my GT (Subaru really did a nice job) but dang mate, it's a toss up when I see that profile shot of yours!

Either way, you're speaking my language!

Gotta ask though, what's with front bumper? Is that just a stock bumper with a colour coded lip spoiler? Looks good!

Thanks for the compliment. FYI, the front bumper has the BaysonR lip that I got through eBay and color-matched.

  3. I did not, I picked them up from DK76 and they were already painted. Luckily the BBS' are my winter wheels, I've got my Works that will be going back on once the weather gets better.

Oh, you're the one who got those spats just before I made the payment [emoji35] . LOL. Looking forward to seeing the car in summer mode.

  4. I installed my axleback, spats, and headlights on Saturday. Obviously pictures were absolutely necessary afterwards.

    Super jelly.

My car just need the spats right now and it'll look pretty similar to your car. (except with 18s and regular grille).

Did you paint the spats yourself?

  5. Yes its a hard molded plastic and I never contacted R-REV. I probably should have because there were issues with the spoiler as well (although didn't notice until after it got painted). But they were small enough issues I can live with them.

As for the painting I just cleaned the plastic and let it dry, then taped over the carbon fiber and spray painted.

I've been noticing that most grilles on cars are just plastic, so it's kinda normal, but still. What kind of spray paint did you use?

  6. Yep they were both from R-REV. Fitment is pretty good. If I had messed with it more or made an adjustment I could likely get it just about perfect. The carbon fiber looks good from close up but anything more than 5 or so feet away and it just looks black. The 'honeycomb' grille was kind of disappointing. It is made of plastic (would have preferred metal) and there were little pieces of plastic from the molding that are left in between some of the honeycombs. I didn't like and had to remove with a file. It also had a grayish color that I didn't like so I spray painted mine black.

When the grille arrived the very top right of it where the hole for the plastic fastener is, was pretty cracked. So much so that I'm sure I could have ripped it off with my fingers. But I just put a piece of gorilla tape over the crack and that plus the plastic fastener once installed keeps it intact. It wouldn't really matter even if it did come off because the grille is firmly secured elsewhere by 6 screws, and you cant see it with the hood down. But still was disappointing as the packing job wasn't very good and I'm sure could have been avoided.

Thank you for your response. The revelation that the honeycomb grille is plastic just made me cautious. It should be metal. It's still a hard molded plastic, right? Did you talk to the R-Rev folk about the cracked hole? Also did you do any prep before painting the grille?

  7. Got myself a new grille and spoiler for my birthday last month.

Is that the R-Rev carbon fiber grille? How's the fit and finish? I'm contemplating getting that one, in addition to the CF foglight covers.

  8. That is correct. I really only had to get rid of that lip inside the fender on the rears, the fronts are perfectly fine. I may still end up rolling the fronts if I decide to go lower, but I really like where it sits because it's not a pain to drive. I'm running Fortune Auto 500 Series with 8k/6k springs.

Thanks for the info. What made you choose Fortune Auto over other, like BC or ISC? Is it naturally stiffer than the stock SpecB setup?
