My car started burning/losing oil around 12k miles. Didn't know until 15k when the low oil light came on and it took 3/4 qt to top off. Since then I've been adding about 1/4 qt per 1k miles.
I contacted SOA in hopes of getting the acceptable "spec" for oil loss. They say up to 1/3 qt per 1200 miles (~0.28qt per 1k). So I'm going to my dealer Thursday to start a consumption test...not fun:(
I'm almost at 17k and I haven't had any issues (build date March 2015). I check mine every other week regardless of mileage to keep on top of all fluids.

Do you know by chance if STI fixed calipers will fit on a 2.5 or 3.6 rotor? I'm only curious because I'm not a big fan of the floating caliper look on our cars and I like the look of the fixed calipers. I would assume the 2.5 rotors would be too small.

I think the flickering is just a normal thing when the camera is initializing with the back-up distance lines that display on the screen. I see it all of the time when I put the car into reverse. I want to say just about every car with a backup camera does this.

dpc166 - I like your yellow film on your fogs. I wouldn't mind replacing my bulbs or applying the film, but unsure how to access the bulbs. I assume it's uncomplicated, but hasn't been warm enough for me to try.
Thanks. I went the film route 1) to protect the lenses from chips and 2) the yellow looks nice even with the lights off! $17 from headlight armor is a good investment.

IMHO, the WRX 5 split-spoke wheels look much better than those 10 spokes that you're talking about. I think another point to consider is that the 5 spokes are 18" vs. The 17" on the ones you're mentioning and they're a half inch wider. I think 18" fits this car better and the wider tire will perform better.
Great point. Thanks!

Man those look good! ^ Oh wait, they're mine
Do you have any shots of the full car with the wheels? I've got the same color and was looking at either those or the stock WRX 10-spokes.

^^ Likewise on the oil. I use Pennzoil Platinum Ultra 0W20 in my 2.5. I only changed mine early before 6,000mi because I was driving 1,000mi round trip from PHL to mid-coast Maine. Will do it again in mid-February when I have another 1,000mi round trip from PHL to Charlotte. Definitely love the way this motor runs and sounds!

I tend to check my oil level, tire pressure, and battery charge every 2 weeks and I record everything (date and mileage) in google drive. I only do the battery because i had a failed Subaru battery after 3 weeks of owning the car (and it's also good procedure in the winter so you can tell if the battery is starting to go on you).
Haven't noticed any oil consumption after 2 oil changes and just over 10,000 miles of driving (changed oil at 1717 and 6889).

hasn't been enough rain here to have any puddles. what's the next challenge?!

This color always looks so awesome!
I debated the Venetian Red and this and I've always loved the WRX blue, so I went blue! Too much pollen here right now so I gotta keep cleaning the car to keep it shining bright!

Love the color!
How do you like the splash guards? I'm debating whether to get them and I think it'll reduce all the crap kicking up onto the door.

Found these online while searching for yellow fog light options for my car to be delivered in 2 weeks and picked up a pair.

They also have a headlight kit. Just another option to the Lamin-x products. Sounds like these may be a better product and can provide a review once I get my car and install these.
Squeaky driver seat
in Sixth Generation Legacy (2015 -2019 )

I just had this squeak develop right after my 3yr warranty expired, go figure! I thought it was a suspension thing at first since i only heard it over bumps, but found it yesterday sitting in my car, stopped, that i could create the noise. My issue seems to be coming from the right bolster as you sit in the seat. I saw you mentioned your lumbar cable being the culprit and I'm wondering if that's my issue. I use the lumbar button a good bit so I'll try that.
The dealer thought the noise was coming from my overhead compartment in front of the sunroof, so they charged me $25 to put some anti-friction tape in there. I just emailed them to let them know the real issue so perhaps they'll bring me in to fix it for free, otherwise, I'll go the DIY route.
