  1. Hi All, I wanted to share my wheel setup with you all for my Gen5 OB. Since the platform is essentially identical, here is another option for you Legacy owners.

These wheels are OEM from a Mitsubishi EVO X.

    BBS Forged 18X8.5 et 38

    255/55/18 CONTI DWS 06 Tires.

Love it! Getting an OB this year......baby showing up here in about a week!.....So ill definitely keep a similar setup in mind!

  2. I believe the XenonDepot True 9005 Base LED High Beam/DRL Replacement Kit has been discontinued. It appears that XenonDepot has replaced it with an upgraded set called the 9005 Xtreme LED. General update to the tech all around from the description.

Definitely considering this! I'm on a trip to Fargo, ND and while HID low beams make high's almost unnecessary I remembered how underwhelming the highbeams are during the last 2 hours after the sun went down up here :spin: I would absolutely love a light bar, but it seems like a really clunky option on what's an otherwise slick front end. Winter is coming though........

  3. Odometer: 20,448 kms (15,200 miles)

Distance driven: 8935 kms (5580 miles)

    Quarts added: 0. Estimated usage: 1/4 of a litre/quart

    Driving style: easy

Full engine operating temp (almost always):

Lifetime mpg or L/100 km: 7.7 l/100 kms (30.7 us mpg) calculated.

Love changing oil on this baby. With the filter on top and fumoto valve on the bottom, not a drop spilled on my hands, or the floor.

Do you have the lock on the fumoto? Thinking about getting one at my next change, but can't decide if the lock is necessary or not.

  4. 18x8 +38 Rotas with 225/45-18 (a bit undersized, but the wheels and tires are off of another one of my cars so this is more of a proof of concept before getting bigger tires)

  5. The engines both crank normal, albeit a little slower. When using Regular (85 here), there's noticable lag in starting. Our XV is pretty bad with super cold starts on regular. It will stumble for a few seconds and act like it's going to stall. My Legacy doesn't do that, however it will pause for a split second after cranking and then the motor will start running. - Hard to explain, sorry. With running Premium (91 here), no pause in my Legacy and the XV doesn't stumble.

Think I'm going to try to exclusively use ethanol free for a few months and see what kind of differences I notice

  6. Well I know it isn't my place and I cant post a challenge I was just wondering, since many parts of the US have been receiving snow the past few days if people could post some snowy pictures?

Legacy is in the garage, but this was after peeling off the frost guard on the old outdoor camry at 530a on Tuesday http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/30/49bf6768e3f4690694df09891cd7295b.jpg

  7. Unfortunately we dont have any idea what the relationship between the wheel and the wheel well is on a 6th gen, so therefore we can give you no definite answer. Our 5th gens have cavernous wells with a big wheel arch overhang. I'm not sure that is the case on the 6th gen.

My guess is that it would be close but with the stock suspension you will probably be fine. My "poke" was about 1.5" and my fronts needed a 1/4" pull and the rears just barely rub, but I am also running 255 tires.

Yea I know it's not quite apples to apples between the generations, but I'm guessing it's at least somewhat similar regarding how much you can push out. I think I'll just order some lugs and find out.....just needed the push to do it lol

    Aren't 6th Gen 5x114.3?

They are, so my backup if this set doesn't fit is to sell them and get a set of STI's.

  8. Sorry to butt in from gen 6 land, but I have a question that might fit the conversation here. I have a set of rotas 18x8 +35 and was wondering if that offset is going to give me any problems? Been on will it fit and it says they will stick out 0.8" more than stock (this is with 225 tires). Is that rolling territory? Just looking for a general ballpark thought before I order some lugs to test it out.
