  1. I did as well a 5AT to 6MT swap on my 05 USDM LGT. I am located in Europe.

I got hold to used parts here locally but with not verified source (guy assembled the parts and sold to me, not specifically from one particular car). The only sure thing is the gearbox, as per its code it is from a 05 JDM 6MT Spec B, prop and drive shafts unknown, rear diff (R160) from a 06 EUDM legacy H6 spec B.

Mechanical wise, everything works fine. The car is running completely different than with AT (despite having mapped it around 330 HP on the AT already the MT is a completely different world).

We had to modify the gearbox cross member and the whole shift mechanism as the stick was leaning forward too much. The prop shaft had to be altered too, the middle rack was not fitting so we did combine the two together. First part was from the one I have received with the parts, the rear from my AT. Shafts were no issue, diff either.

Neutral and reverse are rewired with new connectors. Gearbox ECU had to be kept as otherwise the car did not want to start.

The pin34 trick however is not working. Grounded or not, the ECU thinks it is AT so I have got error codes P0700, P0705 and P0773 constantly.

Tried to find info whether an MT ECU would solve this but I have no clarity on that yet.

So now I am trying to find someone to do a re-flash or have the codes switched off.

Hope this info might be of help.

You have to flash a manual ROM/bin to the car, or modify the hex code in the map you have to be a manual.

  2. Spot on !

Still need throttlehappy to check it out in person and fine tune.

The right manual rom and away goes all the issues and cruise control back:)

Wow! That's fantastic dude!! I'm assuming you're open source tuned? Would you mind sharing your ROM with me so I can reference it compared to others?

This makes me very happy, I'm about to start my 5spd swap and was dreading losing cruise control! I use my car mostly for road trips so cruise is very nice to have.

    Thank you:)

  3. Interesting. You glued yours to the plastic trim. Mine are glued to the lens itsself. I dont know if one was is better than the other or not. Being on the lens did use up all the tube, where yours is a slightly shorter distance to cover.

Nice, clean install. How did you wire them up? Drl or parking lamps?

Ohhh you did? I thought about doing that but I wasn't sure which way you went and so I did it this way. If I were to do it again I would do it your way for sure.

I wired the amber to each blinker but the white is wired to a rocker switch that I can turn on or off anytime. I disabled my DRL's because I have HID's inside my Morimoto Retroquik projector retrofit and the low voltage from the DRL being on would destroy the ballasts.

Thanks man, I'm really digging it! I went to a car meet last night and they got tons of attention.

  4. Badass man. Looks sexy on the red too. Nice clean install. Any info or tips on the install for other future installers?

    Yeah for sure.

I made the mistake on the first one by not cutting a spot for the end of the led tube to go and had to do it after I already painted it. Make sure you cut a section out in the middle just to the right of the projector housing, but also on the top corner because the led tube is about 1-2cm to long.

I also went to fast and did too long of sections super gluing the tube down on the first one, my advise is to go slow and glue 2-3" sections at a time, use clamps (I used bad clips) to hold down the corners as they like to lift up.

The last thing is I used electrical tape to cover up the bottom of the led tube as the super glue seeps out and looks crappy. I'm not sure how long this will hold up so I'll keep you guys posted.
