  1. Has anyone used both a wind fairing or wind jammer? I have a Yakima rack with round bars, and while the wind noise doesn't drive me crazy, I'd like to reduce it. I read the wind jammer works on some cars but not others. It's a fair bit cheaper than a wind fairing, and I also read the wind fairing hurts fuel economy a little.
  2. My list of things to do to my car is getting long so I decided to start ordering everything. Being in Canada, ordering from amazon.ca is better, and of course they don't have the camera you mentioned. So I started searching for alternatives and found this one: https://www.amazon.ca/Professional-Exterior-Weatherproof-Camera-Vision/dp/B0081B58LG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476309522&sr=8-1&keywords=backup+Rear+View+Camera

Should it work just fine? It got great reviews and the price is great.

    Thanks!

  3. 295,000 stock motor, turbo, tranny. Still running like a top. Only mods are a downpipe (catted) and a Cobb AP w/shelf map for the last 200K.

Damn, that's impressive. All the locals here are really against the Cobb off the shelf tunes.

Stories like yours make me more comfortable with the mileage my car has lol. Most is hwy km and it runs like a champ. This will be my third winter with it, and it hasn't needed anything but oil changes. I use T6 Rotella.

  4. I went snowboarding this weekend and on the way home, thought it was strange how little light my headlights were providing. Get to a light by my house and see the reflection in the truck in front of me. Headlights aren't on, just my fogs. Hi beams and tails work. Thought both going at the same time was pretty suspect and worried there was a larger issue.

Found this thread and a few others that eased me a little. Went to the store today, replaced both bulbs and I'm good to go.

I swear they were working when I was packing the car in the morning. So they may have both went out over the hour and a half or so drive to the mountain. I'm relieved that's all it was. Wanted to post my experience as both going out around the same time seems common.

  5. Modified oem, disassembled cut out all the center and replaced it with mesh from home depot. Painted it and stripped the badge and repainted that too. Headlights are oem as well. Disassembled and painted a black chrome product intended for wheels. The projector part I painted with the same gold I used on the emblem.

Is there a DIY for that grille? I'd like to do the same but with blue for the projectors. Just too scared to bake them lol.

  6. Now with my very own Prorack Cargo Box 10

    Love that color and exhaust.

I got my Q-Clips today, it was the last piece I was waiting for. Now searching for the install thread, I know I saw one on here or NASIOC. The instructions show measurements for gen 3 wagon and not gen 4 sedan lol.

  7. I like to be pretty nice before some other people get to you. Your SpecB among other limited LGT's have a dual zone HVAC system. Meaning your AC system is much more complicated than that of 2.5i's and other non limited outback vehicles. That double din kit you're looking at is for a single zone AC system. The only double din kit out there for our vehicle is the JDM kit, unless you're good with solder work and board cutting. It's nearly impossible to convert to single zone as well and I've never seen it done...hope this answers your question

Excellent, thank you for the info kind sir! I was reading through this thread and couldn't figure out why people were using a kit that seemed more complicated, but doing so to keep the dual zone makes sense and is the route I'd prefer.

    Thanks!

edit: Well those are a lot pricier than I expected lol.

  8. I know this isn't supposed to be a comments/questions thread, so don't flame too hard but, how come people are using this JDM double din piece? I'm picking up an 07 Spec B on Friday and it already has an amp/subs, I'm just looking to add a double din to complete the stereo. Had one in my old 07 WRX and tundra and prefer them.

So my question is why would one use this kit, when I could order something like this? I'll be installing it myself so outside of getting the steering wheel control module, I would expect the wiring to be pretty straight forward as long as I purchased the harness(es) required.

    Thanks
