I personally like low gain due to the purity of sound in the first quarter of most amps (this is my subjective opinion) so a bigger amp than needed is great!

Also consider that amps are rated at 14.4v. When in reality often your car only has 11-12v available to your amp. Makes a significant affect on the final RMS out put.
