  1. I think the 5speed auto helps out with the 0-100 acceleration but the 6speed will help with the top speed and fuel efficiency.

plus the ez36d is a bigger displacement so it will technically gain more by those mods in comparison to a turboed 4 with the identical mods. where the Legacy GT gets bigger gains is when you crank the boost up, simply by changing the ECU Tune, exhaust, and intake will not necessarily turn the boost up so the motor will still be getting about the same CFM but would utilize it more efficiently.

its all hearsay, but I love me some Displacement :)

  2. I checked with Crower cams and they can do a ~10% grind. I will have to send my cams.

    $190 a pair to grind...so $380 plus whatever.

There is a one week turnaround, so I would be sending a new set. Gonna see how the TB porting pans out and get a price on camshaft R/R.

Also need to check with Rob at AMR about his thoughts.

have you checked if the Valve Springs will handle whatever lift this ground cam is going to be giving them?

  3. (playing Devils Advocate)

be careful playing with the ventilation hoses, they serve a very important purpose. Regulating crankcase fumes and pressure for combustion to be at its most efficient and to draw contaminants out of the oil to be burned AKA longer OCI.

if it were me i would put a catch can on the hose from the PCV to the intake manifold, and, bypass(connect) the coolant hoses.

"The port on the intake manifold will get plugged" - that scares me

just my two cents, obviously some other folks have played with our particular motors more than myself.

  4. Ive seen Coolant Bypass of the TB as a common practice in other cars wich with a tune helped as usually the coolant actually warmed the Air instead of cooled it going through the TB.

Instead of capping the lines wouldnt you want to connect the two and bypass the TB? as one is probably the inbound coolant to the TB and the other is the Return line?

I could be wrong but this is what ive seen on other vehicles.

  5. Perscitus, please give me a link to your post with the headers and dyno.

I want to add it to the first page. I can find it on Google cached page but there is no post number on it, so I can't link it.

I am seriously considering doing this sooner than later. I am also contemplating supercharger, but I'm trying really hard not to.

    Thanks!

Do a Rear-Mount Twin-Turbo setup! go big or go home right?

it can be called the "Suparu"

  6. Great question and the answer to that is not yet, but there are a whole lot of wetting of pants going on right now!

I haven't had any issue with oil leaking. I've had my standard 2/3 of a quart at 3000 or so miles.

I wonder if the oil film I saw at the front of the motor has anything to do with it? I will look again this weekend.

dang that is exactly how much i'm losing around every 3k. I wish we could find an explanation for this. I remember reading somewhere that Subaru said it was do to "Low Compression" rings that were used on the Pistons, can anyone else confirm for the 3.6r?

with that being said I found this today... http://www.graveyardmotorsports.com/Crate_Engines_Parts_Category_s/1795.htm

Makes me wonder what kind of car needs a Billet EZ36D. gotta be pumping out over 1000HP for that to even be necessary LOL!

P.S. not trying to get off topic, and I feel for those that May be having slight anxiety due to the recent findings of the one we call Gio.

  7. I see a reoccurring variable in most of these accidents.. OLD PEOPLE ;)

I was T-Boned by a 65+ woman on meds in a z-71 Tahoe (with caddle guard) once. it was 100% her fault (weird accident and to complicated to portray in a simple sentence). Long story short, she literally told the officers "I didnt even look, just Gunned it" I was in a Mazda Protege.. and now I GTFO of the way when I see "Old Folk" behind the wheel.

sorry I dont have pics, but I think yall can use your imagination.

  8. .... Dangit Fred i've been thinking about that exhaust all day now! but then if I get the exhaust i'll have to get a CAI.. and if i get THAT i'll have to get a TUNE! if that all happens i'll then have to cross my fingers that my Oil consumption doesn't get worse...

.... then i'll have to get a rear sway bar, eibach springs, and some upgraded struts!

but seriously did you happen to call Lachute Performance and inquire?
