I have a 5MT. this started after I got a flat and had changed all 4 tires. it only happens when the car is warmed up.
I changed the power steering rack a year ago. when this jerking started, I inspected the tires and changed the power steering pump and belts. I checked the transmission fluid too. it was low, so I filled it up.

Sorry I should have been more clear. The procedure that Max posted above is what I was meaning.
i have not driven in a figure 8. i'll try it this weekend. the power steering pump is new. first thing i changed since it was making a bunch of noise.

Probably have air in the steering system. Bleed it.
first thing i did was vacuum bleed it. it's still doing it.

Sounds like center diff. Does it vibrate and feel like its binding up?
I wouldn't call it vibrating that feels like binding it up. The steering wheel will feel like it's fighting back in the opposite direction. So when the steering wheel is fulling turned to the left, i would feel like it wants to rotate back the other way.

I've search but didn't find anything definite. I drive a 08 gt with 146k miles.
The car jerking or there is some resistance when turning at low speeds and when the car is warmed it. It usually happens after i drive the car for 20 or 30 min and turning at a low speed into a parking spot.
p/s pump, belt, and fluid is new, fluid is new. p/s rack is 1 year old. I noticed the transmission fluid was low and topped it off. tires 2 months old.
what could it be? faulty p/s rack? center differential? axles?
Thanks in advance.

I should add that my dash has started to show cracks as well now : 2 right above the gauge cluster and one at the lower right corner of the cubby. And this car has spent most of the last 4 years in the dark garage .
Have you tried contacting subaru or a subaru dealership and see if the warranty still applies to your car?
-
They extended the warranty until when?
I don't have the letter anymore. But if you look at post #81 it shows the letter they were sending out to people. I got a similar/same one. From the looks of it, the offer expired last year 3/2017.

I had my dash replaced a year ago too. I got a letter from subaru saying they extended the warranty for the sticky dash. My dash was sticky, so i called and made an appointment.
