  3. did mine today, took about 3 hours, but I think still worth doing to know how to do it next time a boot fails. one thing I'd add, make sure to push the boot up the axle to give plenty of room to secure the retaining clip in the green part. in other words, wait to strap the boot down till you have the green part attached to the axle. thanks for the write up though, helped a lot btw, I lost about a qt of tranny fluid. maybe i didn't jack it up as high.
  4. yeah, and they don't carry #190N. you found yours at a local shop? would NAPA of BAP carry this maybe?
  5. does this look like the right part for the whole axle? This is from rock auto, where I got my plugs. 2005 SUBARU LEGACY 2.5L 2458cc H4 FI Turbo [EJ255] : Drivetrain : CV Axle Assembly DSS / AUP Part # 196N {CV Axle Assembly: Left or Right #28321AG00D} $74 for the whole thing doesn't seem too bad.
  6. Just did my plugs @61K, post #162 was a life saver for me. I didn't have a knuckle for my ratchet, and it still only took about an hour. Darn these giant USDM hands of mine. Now I just gotta switch out the tranny fluid and I'm all done w/ my 60k service.
