  1. You can flash to a stage zero tune if you want to keep the AP tied to the ECU, or just uninstall it to return the car to the factory settings, then just reinstall it when the issue is resolved. My only concern would be if you had it at a dealer and they tried to flash the ECU with whatever software updates are available from Subaru and that somehow messed up your AP so it wouldn't work without getting it reset by Cobb, so I'd want to unmarry/uninstall it rather than flashing a stage 0 tune - however, if you make the shop doing the work aware, you should be fine.

Thanks. It’s been throwing some big numbers in the fine knock category. So I want to go back to factory until I get it squared away.

Wasn’t sure if I could do this with success?

  2. Blew a head gasket, and wanting to change back to oem ecu. Can I just go into the accessport and flash the oem setting back onto the car?

Just want to be safe until I can get it to TurninConcepts.

Doesn’t seem like the boost was the issue, according to Wagner Subaru (18psi max) isn’t crazy. However still blew head gasket in a car with 60k miles on it?

    Thanks again all.

  3. This car has been through it! A tornado and a hit and run.

I now have a head gasket gone bad. Wagner wants $2900, at least.

Can someone point me to a thread? Don’t honk this is something I can pull off, but I’d like to see what you guys have done.

Also waiting for TurnInConcepts to call me back.

    Thanks all!

    Ben

  4. whether or not the insurance company totals out a vehicle is always a numbers game - it is obviously related to the cost of the repair, but the number they look at is the cost to the insurance company - so it's cost to repair (adjusted to allow for discovery of additional damage) vs. the cost to total minus the salvage value - whichever is cheapest is what they do. Since cosmetic repair (exterior panels, glass, etc.) is expensive, you see lots of cars totalled out when the frame, engine, transmission, etc. are all perfectly fine - just take a look at copart auctions - lots of "wow- they totalled that?" cars on there!

I think what he did that was straddling the line of legal and illegal, is that they are allowed, in Ohio at least, to use tables and comparable etc, but this guy was actively taking bids on my car!?!? Instead of fixing it!! The body shop guy who I just met said he’s been in business for 40 years and he is not sure what this guys was doing is legal? He said Ohio Insurance Commission... and that I needed to call them.

  5. Body parts should be the same 2010-2012.

It’s a totally different hood. And the quarters seem more bulbous? I don’t know maybe some of these guys with ‘12s can say? To me it looks different. That being said I have not seen it in nine weeks!! Hahah

  6. Thanks for all the advice. I had to stop today. I was starting to get really worked up, and I’m on duty today!?! That’s the biggest **** you of all... here I am helping tornado victims all night and into the next day... and Grange if busy pounding me in the @ss.

And yes my neighbor owns his own insurance business and said the same. That in times like this the big push is to close claims/cases.

  7. Total it out and buy it back. Else, I had some success in the past negotiating the value of the car based on upgrades with my insurance company, though it wasn't enough to save it in the end so I just pulled my parts and let it go.

Might also be worth it to see if there's another body shop your insurance company approves to take it to.

Part of the problem is that I bought the car in 2013, it then mostly sat in my garage for three years bc I had a wrx. So I bought $5K worth of upgrades but over several years. Didn’t become daily driver til 2016. Only found 1 for sale in the USA with less miles

  8. Ugh. What ended being damaged when the tree fell on it?

Pics are above. The problem is is was in a tornado so it has damage everywhere. But the body shop guy even said they don’t know what this is?!? So upset. Don’t know what to do. Car has 40k miles on it. All the upgrades I’ve made... so mad

  9. A little more info? That may look much worse than it is. I hope we stayed away from those down wires - that could turn bad in a hurry.

Good Vibes! Appreciate it man... could have been soo much worse. I think it might be ok ?

We had a tornado go right over the firehouse last night. My biggest concern is that I had to go do my job.

So my car sat that way til this AM!?!? I’ve got the same Gteaser koni set up... having them loaded like that for 8-1/2 hours?!?!

Once I crawled all the way under this morning to make sure it wasn’t slammed to the ground!! I drove out from under it.

Washing it now. Pics to come.

Thanks for the good vibes LGT forum!

  10. Thanks. Yeah when I was trying to fix it... it just felt like it needed to come all the way off to be put back on properly. Are the plastic rivets the same as the others? Bc seemed like might be different size than the extras I buy to replace all the ones I’ve jacked up hitting the ground.

  11. Can anyone direct me to taking off and putting back on the ground effect trim on a 2010 LGT? My daughters have used it like a step for so long I can “pop” it back on. And from what I can tell, it looks like it would be easier to take the whole thing off and put it back on. But of course the plastic pins that hold the front end on are different in size (seemingly)?

    Thanks all.

  12. Those do look nice...I am growing weary of the dark wheels on swp car. I would love to strip them and polish then clearcoat. If only I had the time.

I went in to have em look at the wheels bc I hit some moon craters near GE on I-75 in Cincinnati that did spoke rash! No rim rash at all! So must have been DEEP! Next thing ya know I’ve got black wheels?!? All aided by the fact that I finally built my snow tire set. Haha
