  1. I'll probably just put it in as is. Just trying to have a nice cruising street car. Oh yeah I've been all over the east side the past couple days! Kinda embarrassed to get spotted cause the car is filthy right now! Lots of rainy driving recently. I live at the other end of Chuckanut. That trip was kinda a spur of the moment I want to go drive and take pictures and it's a nice Sunday so why not.

Skagit valley? Not a bad area to be in. I thought you were Seattle area.

  2. Hey there birdmayne. Overall looks OK, not perfect. (FYI I do not claim to be an expert as it's been a little while since I have closely monitored my own tune)

I'm sure you'll get the speech about stock tune issues, but in general it looks like you don't have any fine learning correction, however you're getting some amount of FBKC at high load. Only single counts, which could be false knock, but worth keeping an eye on since it's at high load which is never good. Do you have a pull on different terrain such as flat / hill?

Hey thanks, Shutter. I was thinking the same thing but have no real experience with this stuff, just internet research.

All of my pulls are flat freeway on ramps. I will try to get a long hill pull this weekend and see if the results vary at all.

  3. I've been there. Ended up 18g. It was fun though I had to adjust the way I drove a bit. Still a very drive able setup. 18g requires fuel, ebcs, and new ic. 52 will be cutting it close to 300 but you can get there. 52 upgrade doesn't require full fuel mods or tmic, but to reach 300 you'll need them.

If I had to do it again I may go 52. Down low is where the fun is :)

Make sure you do handling mods first.

If you want to alleviate lag, just stick with the 52 or 16. They're both very quick to spool. If you want 330 or so and a bit more lag, go 18. You'll be happy and irritated no matter what.

I will be doing fuel, and I have ebcs. TMIC depends on which turbo I end up with. I think...

My suspension and brakes have enough done to them to feel confident with 300, but theres always room for more improvement down the line

  4. I am going with an new OEM shortblock, basic reworking of heads (stock components, possibly a mild port and polish and 3 angle valves), injectors (740s?), upgraded fuel pump and stock intake. That is about as far as I can make any actual decisions at this point. I want to build for a nicely matched combo that I can DD and hit a handful of HPDEs per year. My goal would be 300whp, but reliability and good fitment are paramount to numbers. I am looking for opinions from those who have far more experience in turbos than I do.

VF-52 (16G) or BNR18? I am also highly interested in going with a twin scroll set up (Flinky, I'm looking at you, man). I love early boost, but want some strong peak boost as well. Turbo lag irritates me.

I've read the build threads, I've done hours of research. I just can't make a decision on this crap.

  5. Sometimes I pretend I'm in an IMSA race and all of the other cars around me are in lower classes  Then another scooped Subaru shows up and I follow him/her for a while until I remember I have a wife and 4 kids waiting for me at home and I can't die today :spin:

So true. I'm pretty sure I'd get yelled at and punished if I went and died today...

  6. Made some progress on my dad's new flooring.

There used to be a pony wall between the dining area / living room. We ripped that out and pushed one wall of the closet in the hallway back 6" to be flush with the other wall. Alos widened the entry in to the kitchen. Wall used to be flush with the edge of the carpet.

And I put few hours in to a table project I have going... pics when finished, no spoilers
