+1 I'd be down for a meet in Va if the schedule permits. I spent enough time driving back and forth when the Mrs lived there, before she was the Mrs. Plus I still have to go to see the in-laws on occasion, guess there is a bad association now.
Herndon has some good places, same with Reston. Mclean would probably be the most conventient for MDers since its the first couple exits after the bridge and is right off 495.

When I saw the thumbnail, I thought worse...
Believed to be a 16th century vampire, the brick was to prevent her from feasting on plague victims.

Say a bunch of the guys on here were so happy that we all chipped in and paypaled you the money for it. We can even set up a fake thread for "proof".
No better way to start a marriage than with a lie.
Good luck with the nuptials and congrats!

Good deal

I think GWIM has a thread relating to Netbooks and then there is the "Computer Nerd" thread.
Could you provide some extra details on hooking the laptop to the car. I looked around and the stuff I've found seems pretty pricey. I know, semi-OT, my apologies.

That is my beautiful bride, at our wedding.

Thought about a mini but the wife hated the smaller size.
(She is used to BIG things)
Then why is she with you. Come on; too easy

Nice deal!^^^^^
I have set my sights on a 10"....looks like the ASUS 1000he is the deal...still about $375 SHIPPED...if you can find them in stock....HPs are non-existent.
Amazon has them in stock regularly. J&R is still the best deal with the 6% cashback rebate; but out of stock (you can still order and get the rebate though).
It is really neat, the build quality is much better than I expected; but a little bit heavier than anticipated, still half the weight of my Dell laptop.
I wasnt originally going to upgrade the RAM, but to double memory for $25 is a great deal; so I'll be ordering that soon.

Also on Newegg, but they are charging list; while other vendors are still charging the pre-order "special" price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220504

Also available in Blue. J&R is cheaper (but Amazon has it now). -
I would still recommend the 1000HE. $343 (with MS Cashback) shipped from J&R. Has the slightly updated processor and is easier to perform a RAM upgrade than the Acer; plus a 9.5 hour battery.
-
Amazon now has the black HE in stock for those interested. They've been pretty backlogged since its release.
-
Currently on the market, there are no Netbooks with a DVD drive (you'd have to go external). I've come across some cheap laptops that are in the $400 range that would have DVD drives; but they are bulky and you would essentially double the weight of the HE.
-
And just an FYI; if you do go the HE route, J&R still has the pre-order special, which is $365 shipped, plus 6% back if you go through MS Cashback; so you'd get a rebate of about $22; making the total $343. Right now this is the best deal on it. They will most likely ship somewhere in the next 2 weeks.
-
Asus. They basically "invented" the netbook.
-
Check out the Eee 1000HE; probably the hottest Netbook right now. Most netbooks do not come with a DVD/CD drive. But you can always get an external usb drive for under $100. I believe the Dell Mini 10 that is going to be released shortly, may have a drive but it is priced pretty high from what I've heard. Most netbooks come with a 60 day trial of Office, but not much more. Myself, as well as a couple other guys oner here, have placed our pre-order for the 1000he.

Not super fantastic, but still better than normal; Amazon has the 80gb PS3 on sale for $350/shipped, no tax.

Though I still feel that by the summer, these will be selling for $300-$340; but still a descent deal if you dont agree with me and you want it now.

I love that one. I saw the commercial for the first time the other day.
Before that, I was all about the: "Spider pig, spider pig; does whatever a spider pig does"
Only one week left
