  1. They attributed my valve issues to not running premium fuel, but were astounded that I had all my gas receipts and could prove that i was using premium. Then they changed their story and said exxon specifically. I filled up for a year at hess (had a gas card) and then Wawa after that almost religiously, not sure if either of them are subs of exxon. :spin:

     

    Translation: they're trying to snow you, and you're shooting them down.

     

    Good for you.

     

    (In addition, what's all this about Exxon selling bad gas? I know a retired executive who would beg to differ.)

  2. Besides for gas, maintenance/wear items, and repairs?

     

    One subwoofer.

     

    One extra set of rims, for the snow tires.

     

    That's it.

     

    (I think the all-weather mats came with the car. If not, then add them to the list.)

     

    I probably would have installed an aftermarket stereo system, if it weren't such a royal PITA to do with this car....

  3. My car's engine was substantially rebuilt recently at 66K miles after two turbo failures within about 100 miles of each other. (The story is detailed on a couple other threads on this board.)

     

    A few hundred miles after getting the car back, the CEL came on upon starting the car one day. I drove the car straight to a local dealer and had them check it out. I didn't want to risk having yet another catastrophic failure on my hands (despite the fact that the CEL never came on with the other failures -- go figure).

     

    It turned out to be a misfiring cylinder, caused by a bad injector. The injector was replaced under extended warranty.

     

    The engine seems to be working fine -- knock on wood.

     

    The idle was a bit lumpy before the injector was replaced. Now it's smoother again.
