So this is the path that I went for my install. All the tools I used for the install http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/801/5n20.jpg Purchased at O'Reilys auto for 11.99$, the only reason I went with these is because they were the only red ones at the store. These have the on/off switch but I did not keep the switch because I hard wired them in. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/855/am8g.jpg Basically, if you hard wire, you cant use the on/off switch http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/534/2dlq.jpg The insides of the 12V socket. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/856/4za1.jpg First I had to pop off the backing of the lights, then pop out the LEDs. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/824/m269.jpg Second step is to grind the area down where you will be mounting the LED circuit board, as you can see I did it where the Subaru kit gets mounted. Make sure not to grind down too much, check the fitment as you go, you want to make sure it is very snug when sliding the LED circuit board in. Also, it makes it tons easier if you grind down the edges of the circuit board to ensure there are not sharp edges when trying to slide it in the slot. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/42/8jn3.jpg After the grinding I positioned the circuit board so that the middle of it was dead center of the diffuser ring for maximum use of the lights. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/833/3ws2.jpg The other corner of the cup holder, they are very snug and will not move at all. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/541/h5qt.jpg After the two circuit boards were in position I used electrical tape to bring the wires to a central spot. This package has TONS of extra cable. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/24/enpx.jpg I cut about 3ft of the extra cable and since the cable is very fine I used a bridge to step up the wire gauge, and cleaned the look up a little with a maintenance loop. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/163/8l9k.jpg It was very simple to wire in, I just used the purple with dots for the positive, and the black with dots as the ground. I went directly into my heated seats connecter so that they turn on when necessary. Credit goes to previous posts. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/27/y68a.jpg The final look, sadly I only have a Iphone as my camera and it does not capture the brightness these lights give off. The light can be seen all around the diffuser at a equal intensity. I am extremely satisfied with the overall look and have no complaints at all! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/811/x79w.jpghttp://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/320x240q90/835/ey8h.jpg Hopefully this helps someone out that is thinking about doing this install. Total I spent no more than 20$, and maybe 1-2 hours worth of work, only because I need everything PERFECT and kept going back to change things. Thanks again to all the previous posts that helped me get this done properly. Have a great day and good luck! -Brenden

Just did this in my 2010 with the beautiful diffuser ring. Sadly the only type of LEDs I could find were white. The look is amazing, but I am definitely going to be buying a set of red to match the rest of the interior. Also looking at the installation guide for the Subaru OEM illumination kit, I am going to put another LED in the tray compartment in front of the shifter. I will try and post pics as soon as I get it all done! Thanks for the write up!!

Legacy Maintenance Guide
Wrightizzle replied to Opie's topic in Detailing, Maintenance, and Long-term care
Just created an account and added my car on the https://www.subaru.com/index.html website. It has EVERY recommended maintenance checks and at what mileage it should be done at. This website is very very helpful in keeping track and making sure things are done at the correct intervals and by certified mechanics. You can add a local dealership, schedule maintenance and the dealership mechanics upload the completed check up into the website. AMAZING service by Subaru, no wonder people love this car manufacturer so much! -

OFF-TOPIC! I am actually looking at getting my first REAL camera soon, I never can find one I think is good enough to capture the images I see lol. I want to get a DSLR but I am new to the scene of photography and think a point and shoot may be better. PM me if you have any advice on what to buy for my first camera please! -

Ordered the V-Limited from Ebay yesterday, I am super excited for the install! I really like to clean look of the popits. Very clean and OEM look from underneath. I really hate the look of bright silver screws, another reason that I think the rally armor mud flaps look tacky, but still sexy, a little off topic but had to be said. -

Pretty much the entire front end is different, its pretty much a different car, I believe it is referred to as a "Liberty". Not sure if its only the Japanese models, but there is also a "SI-Drive"" that does is not available in the US. There are many visual differences. From Wikipedia: The Legacy wagon is only available as an Outback in North America, whereas both a Legacy and Outback wagon are available in Japan, the UK, Australia, and Europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Legacy -

I get so sad when I look at these AMAZING Legacy's....olny because the sexiest ones are not even available here in the US, unless we want to break the bank and import one. Kudos to all those who have one outside the US, they are absolutely beautiful!
