  1. Claimed!

I have a set of Toyo Proxes tires on ASA wheels. They were last on the car probably eight years ago as I stopped swapping and just kept my Nokians on year round. I haven’t had the car for the last two years, so it is time to clear things out. :)

Pretty good tread but one of the tires had a slow leak when they were last taken off. I never investigated the cause, so my guess is it is a simple fix.

Free to a good home but only offering pickup in Cambridge.

  2. noam is close, but not totally correct.

If you have selected it to run as system shell from within CF, then exiting will automatically load explorer.exe

BUT, if you have forced it to run as shell via the registry hack method (as I have), exiting CF will not load explorer.exe, I have to load it myself. Hope that helps.

Is there an advantage to the manual registry hack or is an artifact of before CF had a working run as shell option?
  3. With the newer versions of Centrafuse, simply exiting will make it load explorer. With the older versions, you have to force it as you have described.
  4. Just a side note for you guys (that are on hold due to money and time). I'm having a mold made out of my cubby-screen bezel, and should be making a run of them. Not sure of the costs yet, but Ill keep you posted.

    Sweet! I'm interested...

  5. So I believe that Accessport cable may NOT be used as an OBD-2 reader device for a Car PC, probably irrespective of the front end.
No... The fact that centrafuse only supports the ELM chipset doesn't mean others don't support other chipsets.
  6. Just wanted to add in some comments from my install...

    Mounting the computer...

My method was to remove my backseat and attach some plywood to the frame sandwiched between the backseat (which is just foam) and the fabric you see in the trunk. This allowed me to attach the computer to something solid but still keep it vertical and out of the way.

    Running power...

I was lazy and didn't pull power directly from the battery. I just piggybacked on some existing circuits. Just make sure you choose a good one (I chose the radio as it had a large circuit and not much draw on it). I haven't had a problem yet in ~ a year of use.

I have a master on/off switch mounted in my center console (next to the 12V power port) which cuts the always-on power feed from the computer. I use the M1ATX for my power controller.

For powering the screen, I pull a power feed from the computer back up to the front of the car. This ensures I'm getting a conditioned power stream into the display. I've had it both ways and it does make a difference.

    Keyboard...

I bought an expensive keyboard/mouse combo that can fit in the glove compartment for those times I need to actually use a keyboard. I have a spare USB plug sitting inside the shifter trim. In my old car I actually did a flush mount USB port, but I haven't had the energy to do it yet.

    Software...

I'm using the beta version of Centrafuse and iGuidance for my navigation. I'm very happy with the combination.

I can't think of anything else that hasn't already been mentioned...
