  1. Its a spring clip on the end , after you pop it in you wll see how deep it sits .

Thenyou can doubble check it with a pry bar and try and pull it out again with light load .

Has anyone taken the alex out before?

After checking other forums there is an ridiculous debate on whether the clips come out on the axel or stay in the differential, I just wonder if my local subaru dealer would have a new one of these in stock..... would make me sleep better at night. It seems a lot of people's axels fall out with no rhyme or reason and a lot of people just stuff them back in, don't want this bastard falling out again. :spin:

  2. Happened to me twice

Makes the trans feel like its slipping. Took me a while to figure it out .

To get it fully seated i un did the axle nut and used a dead blow hammer

You have no idea how good it is to hear that! My transmission would randomly feel like it was slipping on certain days! Is there some sort of retaining clip that is supposed to hold it in?

  3. Anyone have the breakdown of the rear differential assembly? My transmission has been doing funny things so I flushed it and replaced the filter. Was changing the differential fluid for shits and giggles while I was down there, got to the rear diff and saw that I can pull my passenger axle out.
