Has all the mounting points on the bottom and everything. This was the first draft. Made some revisions and whatnot so now it's pretty much dead nuts. I can just remove the holes for the switches and send you the blank one. I'm in the process of building a new switch set so that I can keep the SI drive selections there but make them much smaller so that I can still have the 4 toggle switches.

Please do send me a blank. Will save a lot of time of my friend having to create one from scratch.

Im having a friend make a SI drive delete plate thing since I have a SI drive console and no SI drive. This is the first draft/print. One corner came up off the print bed a bit and it needs to be a bit closer to the center console. Will try and make it cleaner but if anyone is in the need for such a thing let me know. I can sell a couple or if anyone here is interested in the file so they can add it as a product on their website let me know.

In an auto trans there is no gears coming in and out of mesh,
It could be your trans mount is rotten and with the harsh engine breakingg the trans is moving and there may be metal on metal contact somewhere
I'll have a look at the transmission mounts. Thank you for this. I asked in the valve body upgrade thread when I had the valve body installed if there were bushings I had to keep an eye out for and nobody seemed to have an answer for me.

So I am getting a pretty loud metal on metal sounding clunk noise when the car shifts from second to first when I'm slowing to a stop. I have the upgraded valve body installed with about 1500 to 2000 miles on it. Is this a bushing problem or gearing slamming into each other?

I see there was talk about SI drive knobs and covers... How about a block off plate for those of us that have the SI center console but SI drive not equipped to our cars?
-
Not sure if this is a member here but i just spotted a black obxt with wheels in the Napa raleys parking lot.
-
Also bumping this....
I have a 05 5EAT with a 08 stereo installed. Curious if I can still remove my shift buttons and use the radio controls with the newer style stereo?
-
Not quote norcal but I spotted a black legacy gt wagon on what looked to be stock black wheels with blacked out badges near Donner Lake as I was driving to reno today. You were getting on the highway, I passed you in a silver altima.

what do you guys think is fair asking price for all the components, minus struts/springs to do this swap? Going to look at a LGT part out today. Im assuming all of it needs to be blasted and painted and new bushings installed.
Basically going to him with this list and picture. Ive got a 5EAT, so Im assuming nothing needs to be done to the shifter. And I don't "need" the heat shield.

Iirc I paid about 250 for all my components minus the struts. Had to have the parts shipped though.

I did the same. Got legacy gt wagon struts and Springs and it lowered just fine. I went the extra mile and converted to full legacy spec about 1000 miles later. It didn't really make a difference in the end that I could tell. I also got rubbing with outback sized tires at full lock. Went a little lower on the sidewall and that fixed it. Speedo is off a bit now though...
As for the steering rack I kept mine obxt. The driveshaft should be changed though if your taking out the subframe spacers. The center mount is different so with the lowered subframe it puts it an a less than ideal angle.

The harsh downshifts are all in D. Looks like ill have to deal with it. Still worth the upgrade IMO. So as far as bushings. Any I should keep an eye out for? Possible upgrades maybe?
-
How exactly are these dash rattle stoppers supposed to be installed? There is a very large gap between my dash and my windshield. Is that not where they go?
-
So I've had my valve body mod installed for about 600 miles now. Everything had smoothed out but the downshift from 2nd to 1st. It's pretty violent. I can feel it through the whole car.
Is there any bushings or anything I should replace or keep an eye on due to the added stress from the harder down shifts?

It's holding pressure much better so far! It drained about 10-15psi in 4 hours, which I think is about what it was when I was on the stock filter assembly.
I really should have timed it before... anyone with a fuel pressure gauge wanna check the pressures on 4 hour intervals for me?
I'm not sure if anyone responded to this but I remember getting into my car after a day or two and my pressure had only gone down maybe 10 psi at most. I can double check if you would like.

If you are under stage 3 then go OEM. Direct fit and cheaper. I installed a perrin on mine because I thought my OEM was bad and not only was it expensive but I had to get an aftermarket bpv hose.
-
I put legacy wagon springs on my obxt and it sits just fine. Tried uploading a pic but must be too large for Tapatalk to handle.

Spotted a white either lgt wagon or obxt with wheels today getting off the highway in Vallejo near Sonoma st and 37. Got a glimpse as I went through the intersection. I was in a lowered gray obxt with wheels.

Ahh yeah I'm pretty bad with names my bad. Shoot me a pm I'm free most weekends and would love to help you install some parts and take you for a ride.
Yeh im the same way. At least you were close. I dont remember your name at all haha. Ill shoot you a PM.
I am in Berkeley - always enjoy installing parts.Ill have quite a few to install once BNR gets back to me so I can use all the help I can get. Especially anyone that has done the work before. Ill be going from 10000000000000000000% stock to stage 3.5. Woo!

Stopped and talked to Shane (idk his name on here) in front of his house today in Vallejo about his 08/09 outback xt and 05 LGT sedan. Offered to take him for a ride in my wagon but he had to go to work.
That was me! Names Shaun BTW. Still up for that ride whenever your free. Maybe you can give me a hand someday installing a few parts?

^ The duct that seals to the engine cover is taller on the OBXT to make up the difference in the body lift.
Wow that means ive been smashing mine for a few months now lol. Never noticed...

So I did this swap a LONG time ago and noticed something weird that I have kinda forgot about until now.
When I did the swap and replaced the transmission cross member I noticed I had extra space between part 41020F and the cross member. This was on an 09 Outback XT I converted to legacy spec suspension. The nut 0238S*A was ran down as far as it would do onto the shoulder of the bolt.

I just did some research and found that the transmissions in the outback and legacy 2008 have the same part number but the 2009 outback has a different part number. Is Does anyone have any experience with this? I am worried that something is not right with my transmission mounting.

On my way home tonight saw a outback with wheels headed north on 680. At least I think it was an outback... It was about 530am. You drove past me going a bit faster than 65 lol
