^ Very interesting. What is your typical driving enviroment? Does the 100% throttle on the non-stock map make a difference in engine feel?
my driving environment is southern california:lol: mostly freeway... and i have to put it to the floor because boost and wastegate duty cycles dont kick in until >%80 go pedal... so for me the half-throttle/full throttle debate is moot... half throttle doesnt do anything so WOT feels good to me:icon_mrgr

oh ya... couple of pics...
here is the stock throttle map:

and here is the throttle map im using.... and when i say lazy... its lazy.... but it wakes up when i lay into it.... i have to put the pedal to the floor, none of this half-pedal stuff

and once again because of this this throttle blade moves much less and saves fuel by not dumping it in for throttle tip-in....
-
^It looks like the intelligent drive system uses tip in to as one method to control engine response.
if you mean SI-drive... i got an 05....
-
3Got our second LGT owner idicating 30+mpg.bumping again.
instead of 21-24mpg my realtime lingers around 28-32+ mpg...
mind you this following pic is after a throttle actuator tweak and 40+ miles of highway driving....
fuel tip in enrichment FTL!!!111

Yes. wire it to the appropriate terminals onthe dome light switch....
i re-wired the map lights to the switch so they turn on and of with the dome switch but they still work individually....
jic/fyi....i wired it to the middle 'blade' off of the switch.... just like the diode, you have to gob some solder on there to get it to stay...
stealth car exiting FTW!!!11
-
is there a way to retain the map lights turning on and off with the domelight but maybe with an off switch, or have it operate with the domelight switch.... because some times i want the lights off when i get out...
you know, like when im out fo da kill

Mine have no condensation after over a year but I went overboard with extra silicon. Now I did el3ments lights last weekend and we didn't add any silicon and his drivers side got condensation too...not looking foward to taking his car apart again.
j00 didn't call again
-
yea they do, thats how i drained the battery on the car the first day i got it...at the dealer's lot.
went home and disabled the DRL an hour later. i might try to see if i can get the foglights to act as DRLs now just for safety's sake
you sure you didnt leave the parking switch on???
-
hold up..... the parking lights stay on with the key on IGN ???
-
the drl box on my 05 is on the firewall above/behind the clutch.... it may be a different procedure for 07's....
what HID kit did you get?
-
techically, according to US safetey standards - cars are reqeired to have an amber reflector on the front side of the car, that reflects light even when the bulb is turned off... so clear bulbs that blink orange are only legal if you also have an orange reflector on the side of the car. (the new VW lineup is like this)
FOr what it's worth though, i had my Virginia state inspection today - and the car passed with cleared and blacked out headlights, no questions asked -- so unless you live in a really strict area you should be okay.
what putting the reflector back in, but using some chrome tape(or black tape for the darked lights) to make it look smaller or alter the design of it... i thought about cutting but that may be extreme...
-
So most of you agree that on silver cars, you should leave some amber in there? I'm not sure i would like totally cleared or blacked out.
mine are cleared... i just have amber LED's ... clear in the daytime and noticeably amber at night...

congrats on the transfer... lets see what else you can muster up
-
i just did my maplights right now....bored at work, so...why not got all the tools i need...
-
Did your signal get any louder? I put mine in backwards like you, but I'm trying to figure out of its worth ripping apart my car again. My XM setup is reallllly quiet, and its been bugging me for awhile.
i still i have no idea if its backwards or not ... i just fiddled around with it comparing every which way to plug it in.... and it sounds the same just no ticking.....
-
ok i fixed mine.... i just moved the position of the filter away from any audio wires.... i can turn the radio to 40 (with silent cd) with the engine on and there is no noise at all....
-
actually it might be backwards.... its one of those rca filters that come in the audiovox fm modulator kit/bag..... i have the aux out>mini jack to rca>filter>powered ipod audio connector(from david navone)>ipod
i'll switch it around tomorrow and see if it helps...
-
i put mine in today.... installation went smoothly
one thing... im still getting engine/ground loop noise, even when nothing is plugged in....i may need another GLI to switch out with the one thats in there....
best legacy gt year?
