Thanks for posting your experience. I know the future of tuning here in SoCal is looking pretty grim so I'm sure there are more of us that will run into this specific dilemma.
I also have a 2005 OBXT running A2WC522S, however my smog isn't due until later this year. I have been curious how this process would go after flashing to a different rom (A2WC522N), and then back to A2WC522S.
I just ordered the ELM reader from amazon, I'll report what my CVN is when it comes in.

I think it took me like a week of tinkering with it during evenings. just because I took the opportunity to disassemble the subframe assembly, replace all of the bushings in the rear end, and clean the rust off of everything. If your only goal was to get a new tank in, it could definitely be done in a weekend.
getting the new tank in the car and the straps installed was kind of a pain to do by myself while laying on my back. other than that, the job isn't too bad at all

Any opinions on OEM vs Spectra Premium vs. Liland International? I'm leaning towards Liland as they are made in Taiwan.
can't speak to the aftermarket options, but I replaced my tank a few years ago with a used OEM tank from a 2.5i. $200 shipped off ebay and it looked brand new since it was from a southern state. Came with all of the sensors and everything which ended up being necessary since the bracketry for them on my factory tank was completely corroded.
also, renting a pallet jack for this job helped a bunch with removing the rear subframe as an assembly

not trying to be a smart ass my friend; no need to take things personally. I need a replacement vf40/vf46 for my obxt. was curious if you knew the history for my sake, and other potential buyer's. if this was a china refurb, they can be had brand new for around your asking price. in my experience, the domestically rebuilt ones retain the original part # engraving

is this an original oem turbo? or do you know if it's been rebuilt? the OEM ihi turbos don't say 'Model', 'Ref. No', or 'Serial No.', and the part number is centered on the bottom row. also it's pretty clearly been ground down to remove the original engraving
this is how it ought to look if it's original

I'm interested in this but I agree with the poster above, it looks like an R160 diff. OP?

bump, shoot me an offer. I'm not too attached to these

Used for about 10k miles, in good working condition. Will come with flow chart.
These require USCAR connectors. You can purchase premade USCAR to Denso adapters, or purchase the connectors individually and wire them into your harness.
Asking $200 shipped.
image upload keeps failing, pic here:

Used for about 25k miles. In good working condition. Minimal shaft play. This has Blouch's upgraded HPD turbine wheel and a 10cm turbine housing (over $1,500 new). I made up to 420whp on this turbo, but ran it at 21psi making 375whp on 93 octane. Selling because I am moving to a rotated setup.
Asking $600 + shipping

Curious why you are excluding 05 and 06 LGT's if you're just going to steal the longblock. I've been eyeing this one, but already have too many cars :s

so this is the spec.b I see around town! excited to see what you'll do to this one

Thanks for the compliments. So far I'm very pleased with the outcome.
Others can chime in... if you have an AP tune loaded in the car, can you overwrite the car's existing ROM with a new ROM via a Tactrix cable?
If yes, Darth you could just buy/borrow a Tactrix cable and use it to load a new stage 2 map (opensource or a custom eTune). If you already have the stock ROM or an opensource ROM loaded in your car, you could just save that ROM to a computer and compare it to a stock ROM... or send it to me and I'll compare it to a stock '09 ROM.
no, an ecu that's married to an accessport will be unwritable by a tactrix cable. you'll need to unmarry it before being able to flash a new map.

Hey thanks for the reply bro... I found the clutch through a vender on here already. I need the oem flywheel off either an 07-09 LGT or 06-11wrx. Not sure where to find one
you can use the flywheel from a 12-14 WRX as well. I'm currently running a 2014 WRX flywheel. You can get them pretty cheaply off ebay from a salvage parts vendor.

I'm in, 05 LGT 5MT

I've been lurking this thread since the beginning, glad to see that you got it running! Really well done!
