  1. Hello...thanks for the post. Been looking for write-ups, reviews and pics on fueling upgrades. I am currently in the middle of a ID top feed conversion. I thank you for the link to the dorman connectors, that's the last bit I need to finish my install...

Depending on how your running the top feed fuel lines you may actually be better off getting an aftermarket regulator. You can use the one I posted with no issues, but if using the AN ID fuel lines, something like the aeromotive regulator with AN fittings may be nice.

Just a thought. Glad people are still trying this fix out. The guy who now has my old car with this set up loves it as well.

  2. Really sorry to hear that, man!

I tell you what - if your car's replacement can use one of these intercoolers, I'll honor the group buy price for you anytime. Just shoot me an email (mbeenen@grimmspeed.com) and remind me.

This type of customer service is why I had pretty much every Grimmspeed part they make for a Legacy on my car. I'll keep it in mind, and thank you again!

  3. I posted pics in the orignal post with #'s, but this is the link

I honestly have been crazy busy, I have not had time to get my laptop and hook it up to do a log. I have my accessport in the car and have a few gauges open, as well as I keep an eye on my wideband. From what I can tell, everything is perfect thus far. My AF learning has never got +- more than a few %, my wideband reads perfect through my entire RPM and boost range.

  4. Lol stupid me got my cylinders mixed up.. The injector is not spraying at all.. I pulled it at idle and nothing.. so how I got cylinder 3 and 2 mixed up is beyond me lol

I have not read through this thread, but are you sure you have spark in the cylinder? Pulling the injector is a classic trick to see if the cylinder is working, but after finding that its not, you still need to figure out spark, or fuel

  5. I have been working on figuring out my fueling issue for a long time (pressure fluctuation). Also hoping to fix that little stumble everyone talks about, but it was not my goal of everything. I have replaced everything. As for mods, I have a built motor internally, FMIC, 18G turbo, Grimmspeed downpipe, up pipe and boost control solenoid.

More importantly since this is a fueling issue is the fueling mods:

    DW 65C fuel pump

    DW 740cc injectors

New OEM in tank fuel filter

Replaced fuel pump and filter O rings twice just to be sure they were good

Had injectors cleaned and tested by DW, passed perfectly

I replaced my fuel pressure regulator with a new LGT one from Subaru thinking that was my cause of the fuel pressure fluctuation. Dident help.

I came down to the 1 year old DW fuel pump being faulty and started talking to DW. I read and asked them about something I found online saying when you have fueling mods, especially with there DW pumps that they do not like the bypass style regulator that our LGT's and the 08+STI have. I figured I would try one last thing, and found most people with 08+STI replace there regulator with a standard style one, like Automotive, Tomei, or a older gen regulator off a 07 and older STI. Perrin just came out with a nice regulator but they want $300. I got some quick connects from Amazon, and a STI regulator from Subaru and fuel injection hose from Napa. Installed it all like the Cobb Tuning kit is set up, but they want $290 for their kit found here, and I made this for $140. Not only has it fixed my fuel pressure fluctuation, but the stumble that everyone talks about is completely gone. The car accelerates smoother under WOT, the car drives nicer just going with the flow of traffic and using light throttle, all over better.

    Anyone else ever tried this?

  6. Not yet, it's such a pita to get the right PVC adapters for this. I probably should though before digging into injectors. If I do new injectors I plan on doing an inline fuel filter right before hand, so that new ones don't get clogged...

To pressurize the entire system, I just connected it to the inlet and did a few psi so I dident blow any seals. Then to test the rest of the system I connected it to to my fmic piping and did 25 psi. His avoids having to hassle with the PCV crap and capping it.

  7. +1 for the Recaro. Its what I have for my daughter. Its a great seat. Fits nice, easy to use/install whether using the LATCH or standard seat belt install. My daughter is comfy in it as well. As stupid as it sounds I have to take a writing class for my Engineering degree, and I choose to write about car seats and how they are made/what ones are better and why bla bla bla. If you dig deep, Recaro really is one of the top highest rated seats out there.
