I gotcha gotta do what you gotta do for sure. The goobers that worked this car before wired things up out of laziness it seems. Yesterday I fixed the radiator fan wiring to remove the toggle switch they installed. Went to lkq and poached the wiring harnesses from the fans in a 99 outback, luckily they use the same connector. The driver side male end was gone and replaced with what looked like a trailer light harness going to nothing. They left the passenger side intact so I could match it up. With a lot of starter spray she cranked and I let it run long enough to hit temp and I started jumping for joy when the fans came on by themselves. Next is the ignition switch, there's an interesting splice on what I think is the crank position sensor, probably from just cutting the wiring for the old one while swapping motors, so I'm wondering a)did they splice the sensor back together wrong b) is the sensor bad c) bad ignition switch. This should be the last of the jank wiring that I can see and after that I can actually starting cleaning, tuning up and make her road worthy.
