The 5MT did survive. I also have an 06 STi 6MT that I'll be selling if I don't fix and keep the car.

180k on an '06 is worth 6/7k running. Dont assume after market parts bring value. As said before a part out is your best option.

 

Unfortunately I won't have enough time to part it out. I am up for orders this month and there's no way the Navy is keeping me where I am due to my sea/shore rotation. It's either fix it and sell it or sell it as is

It only failed because I shifted into 3rd on the highway when I shouldve gone to 4th. It was completely driver error, nothing to do with the mileage.

rod knock is usually a new short block minimum 1800$, plus everything else is usually $2000.

 

bad valve is head job @1000-1500, new valves, springs, seats are $1000 depending on upgrades.

 

80k on the motor seems early for a failure.

I don't know if it is rod knock. I suspect just valves but someone (who's never seen the car) said it could be. There's a video of the sound here:

Honest if it was running no. But its not running and needs a lot of $

 

It definitely doesn't need $4K if it's just valves. I'll have a compression/leakdown test done to narrow down the possibilities.

Knocked off a grand and willing to negotiate.

Wow ... I LOVE how the stock sidemarker blinker lights up slightly after the strip does, looks sequential on purpose.

 

Daaang... Just when I thought I was done modding my spare set and about to reseal them

 

I was hoping to also see the transition from white to orange (before/after) you turn the blinker on/off. Don't suppose you could be bothered to take one last vid for me

Any chance for a quick video clip with just one blinker on (but not so close that you can't see the other headlight)?
