  1. IF i were looking to tune, i wouldn't waste much energy on a used motor. get a new short block, new turbo, all the fun bits, and there, now you have a race car.

I suspect the oil consumption is more the turbo rather than the motor.

It seems many seek power before stability, i must do things backwards.

Regarding the coils, can't comment on a local quote. I would contact the manufacture for a quote.

Coils are currently off, and running OEM struts.

  2. you convinced me sir $10k is a more fair base asking.

as you identified and i agree:

It has some cosmetic issues, torn driver seat ,small dings etc. I will try to get some additional photos posted shortly.

If i did have a fair buyer I could also look into replacing the LCA's... resolve the bushing issue.

I am actually only looking to 'sell' for $1... the remaining difference would be a kind donation.

The 2015 transmission conversion alone is worth about $5k+

The car is fun... and ready for all the fun stuff. power, fuel system, tuning, etc.

Base Price: $11k? flexible on price depending on whether you would like to include summer and winter wheels, Bilstien PSS coils( need rebuild), and other misc parts etc.

Been garaged for the last year....Gauging Interest (offers?)

2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon (~143,000 miles)

Good jumping off point for someone looking to add power.

I am the second owner. I took this car over with about 95k on it.

It was not running (no clutch) when I purchased it; almost everything has been replaced as each OEM part failed.

Have had some small accidents and some body work. Over all looks pretty good.

Consumes about 1qt every 1,000 miles... Not great, but not uncommon for this motor as Subaru likes to say. Banjo filters were removed shortly after I took ownership.

I also have some other goodies that are not on the car and considering making it part of the package... so the price is pretty negotiable depending on what you want to include.

    example:

I have a set of Michelin PS tires mounted on 18" x 8.5" WED SPORT wheels.

  5. JDM Bilstein PSS (BSSKIT) coilovers (bought used from Japan, ~30k miles)

Improvement in handling over OEM. Due for a rebuild sooner rather than later.

    Buyer pays +shipping/handling $100-$150

This suspension kit is one of the nicest you will find for this platform. This kit is not available for purchase in the US. Imported from Japan. The front driver side was making a slight knocking noise at low speeds. Mileage on the set from JP was approximately 30k and I had them on for around 12k. I have the Bilstein Spanner wrenches that I can include as well.

I'd recommend that at least the fronts get rebuilt if not all 4

To get a new set of these into the US would run you around $2k.

  6. Nice picture. Fortunately the parts guy at Dunning expects this kind of behavior and just orders it. The STi bushing is solid compared to the LGT and is worth replacing once you spent the time removing the arm. You will need a press with a lot of room so that you can position the bushing under the press. We have a fairly large press at work so it wasn't to bad to do.

I supposedly ordered a pair of Group N rear CAB from rallispec a little while back and it is not a solid bushing as you are stating-- it has the same two slits as OEM, but perhaps a little smaller. It looks pretty much the same as the LGT but different material i suppose.

Anyone have a photo of what the Group N and/or STI rear bushings should look like?

  7. Thanks for the input.

I'm just trying to economize my time and package complimentary updates while I am in there. I already ordered the rack as my original is leaking pretty badly. I'm also upgrading the sways and some drive-train mounts to tight up the suspension further. might throw in my STI master cylinder to help with my mushy brakes as well.

It sounds like the LGT u-joint fits the this rack, but I also have a '07 STI u-joint.

Any idea if an older STI u-joint will fit the '15 rack?

Does the '05 u-joint w/damper add to the setup at all... ie. lessening some NVH, and therefore making for a more "comfortable" drive?

    OR...

Is the STI u-joint a better compliment to the rack altogether, but the benefit doesn't outweigh the cost at $150+?

  8. They felt reasonably compliant like the LGT OEM bushings. The WL KSR207 bushings seem less compliant but this is strictly by feel. That being said the upgraded bushings are definitely a diminishing return on the overall upgrade.

Given that, do you think it's worth upgrading the bushings?

You think you're better off diving on the OE bushing for a while, or better off swapping them out before it goes on the car?
