  1. Ok so the single 6-rib LCP for the '15 WRX won't fit on our cars, but... The more common 2 belt pulley will. "But Dave! We only have one belt, and it's got 6 ribs!"

So? I've been running a 5 rib belt (a NAPA 25050650) for the past few months as an experiment. I haven't had an issue yet, regardless of alternator load, hitting the steering lock, etc. So... I put this baby on with my 5 rib belt. The 5 ribs on the pulley line up with the 5 forward-most ribs on the accessories. Went from 5lbs 11oz to 1lb 4oz (2590g to 565g). :)

  2. Solved! I saw a '15 WRX the other day, and noticed his crank pulley LOOKED just like ours. I then saw that Perrin has one for the '15 WRX, but doesn't list one for '10-'12 LGT. I asked, and just got a reply. "...The PERRIN PSP-ENG-101 crank pulley will work on your Legacy just fine. We just don't have an application for that car on our website yet..."

Well, it seems someone at Perrin didn't check. The pulley is wrong in so many ways (center hole is too small, uses a dowel instead of a key, rib location way too close to engine, etc). It's going back (and I still don't think this guy at Perrin knows what he's talking about, let alone comprehending what I'm telling him).
