  1. Thanks for all the replies

I know I dont want toe out in the rear. I am looking for zero to slight negative. As far as tires I know they will make a big difference as well. I will be getting different rims and tires in a couple months so I should probably just leave it until then. I definitely need to get the camber tweaked though.

Thanks again for all the help

The wealth of info on here is really great

Negative toe is toe out. In the rear, you want absolute zero, to error slightly on positive(in) toe.

  2. I will just post it here for now.

I looked at my compact spare because I am contemplating sizing down in tire diameter.

The compact spare is a 135/70/17 which is about 24.7". OEM tire diameter is 26". There is over an inch difference between spare and other tires.

Several people have posted against having different size tires. This goes cometely against those opinions.

Not sure what to make of it.

Interesting, because I just sized up to 225/50R18's, and I'd wondered about the spare and the difference in size, considering I'm almost an inch taller than the stock 225/50R17's. I thought I'd just get a 2015 Legacy spare, but then remembered the change to 5x114.3. When I buy snow tires, I plan to run 255/55R17, which is the same height as the 225/50 R18. I wonder if a full size wheel and tire will fit in the trunk and still allow the liner to lie flat?

Upset that I missed this years event since ive never been. Some of the most elite supercars come to SunValley Idaho to go all out. This Bugatti sounds like a jet, hitting 246.6mph. Iirc its 100grand per car for an entry fee.

$1,950 to $10,000, depending on how many runs you want.

  4. Why would you want a shorter tire than stock for winter time? One benefit to the 55 series is exactly what you said, sidewall cushion...and the other is a overall height increase.

The other benefit to the 55 series is the thread is even more narrow than the 215/50R17 that you chose.

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Blizzak+WS70&partnum=15TR7WS70XL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&tab=Specs

If you look at the 215/50, the tread width is 7.2". The 215/55 tread width is 6.8".

Lastly, the stock speedometer is off "fast" from the factory, and doing a smaller radius only makes it worse(your adding miles faster than you should). Being taller, the 55 series would damn near "correct" the speedometer.

I'm sorry I even said anything, I really wasn't trying to be confrontational. The size you choose will be fine, and really...we're talking very small amounts of difference anyway.

You've got a great looking car! Please post some more snowy pictures when you can!
