  1. Haven’t had that problem yet. I do have a bunch of other problems, though: AC stopped working, driver side rear door won’t open, valve cover leaking oil.

I just replaced the struts and every exhaust gasket. Tired of fixing stuff so I dropped it off at the dealership for them to do since I had to take it down for the airbag recall anyway. I would like to keep this car forever.

Got me a Crosstrek with a six-speed manual for a loaner. I was hoping I’d like this car, but I don’t. It’s made entirely of plastic and can’t match the quality of my ‘98. And there’s absolutely no torque. But I do enjoy the Apple Carplay!

Lucky, I'm assuming it's pinched wires. I pulled the boot but couldn't see anything, I may have to cut it off. Next i'm going to check power to the wiper motor to see what's what before I really tear into that harness. My car has bad struts also, and my power steering is shot, and I have another wheel shake, bad exhaust leak. Too much stuff and not enough time to fix it doing full time school.

  2. I have a friend selling his 05 GT wagon manual. Silver, black interior, ltd. Like 130k miles.

Although it does need a turbo soon, it has a BNR 16g with a little bit of shaft play, also has an accessport v2. Needs the airbag recall done too. He wants 6k for it.

It'd need a painted rear bumper if you care about a scuff on the rear end too.

  3. That’s a nice find!

I found a custom box for the wagon:

Does that LL Bean have the stock sub in the same spot?

I was considering building a fiberglass version of this when I was more into car audio. I still have my huge box, amps, two 10's. I just never bit the bullet on the JDM double din.

Only thing making me want to upgrade right now is my right driver side speaker is clipping. But I just got used to it lol.

Just realized this is my 1,000th post lol.

  4. Just looked at that Outback online. Looks clean and the price is nice. Might go check it out this weekend.

It does look like it's been done well, I just saw it on Facebook the other day. Tell Trevor or Brody that I told you about it, maybe they do finder fees/rewards lol.

  5. And now I’m looking for an Outback XT to replace the ‘98. I just want all the Legacys.

Moonbeam is selling a 05 manual ltd XT, SWP main color and the grey body tones. Black interior too. $6,500 with 65k miles on drivetrain and 180k on body. Engine work was done by a Subaru tech I guess too.

    Mods:

SPT intake, 3" Mishimoto inlet, VF52, Mishimoto top mount, Mishimoto radiator, Invidia catless dp, Walter 3" catback with straight through Magnaflow muffler. Tein Flex Z coilovers, Whiteline rear control/camber arms. 2015 STI limited wheels, ISC 25mm adapters, slotted front rotors.

Looks pretty clean, if I didn't have mine i'd consider looking at buying it.

  6. Any details? Not like it really matters at this point since they're closing up

I just heard that they had people who got tuned at FNP get checked by other tuners or get re-tuned and those tuners found the same maps with minor adjustments. You were paying for a full priced dyno tune, but it would only take about 30 minutes. He was just using similar base maps and slightly changing things, some people had it fine but when they blew up FNP blamed it on their mods or reliability issues. Someone tried suing them for a engine build, but it didn't work since they signed a liability waiver and they weren't street legal mods.

Also if you had a really nice car, or something that would rep FNP good, or knew him personally you wouldn't have these issues. But average Joe with a few mods went to get tuned randomly they would get the same base map flash.

Personally I didn't have any experience from them, but i'd never let anyone tune my car other than Alex or Ryan.

  7. Btw rumor has it FNP has closed it's doors? Only does E-tunes now,...what's up with that?

Numerous people having the same tune with minor changes. Cars exploding and blaming it on random parts of the car. Had a lawsuit, I wouldn't trust my car to get tuned by him. Only Ryan at Simple, or Alex at Ignition Logic.

  8. You're going to take a major hit on your price if you don't fix the car before selling. You never know if the dealership is being honest when they tell you that kind of stuff. What did they think the cause of failure was?

If you're looking for an affordable place to get the block rebuilt go to Moonbeam Garage in SLC. The techs there worked at Despain for years and they opened their own shop, better prices and I've seen numerous people that have went through them for rebuilds and have had great success.

Getting there. Swapped in some painted obx tails. Before getting flamed yes I upgraded the bulbs. Heads been turning to decide if I want to lower it or not next

Your hitch sticks out way further than mine, and I have already been banging mine on stuff. I would say ditch the hitch if you want to lower it haha. It's weird having one, I'm taking dips slow like i'm lowered but I don't get the looks of being lowered.

  10. Also just as an update. Doing my automatic to Manual swap next weekend as well as some little upgrades (Catless Downpipe, turbo inlet pipe, and ecbs/pro tune) will post a YouTube link with the swap either the process of doing it or the finished product.

Nice spotted post, made a dirty car look clean haha. Good luck with the swap, hopefully it all goes well.
