Thanks man! It's definitely a pretty sweet setup esp since I love to cook and always want a bomb meal after a long day of adventuring haha.

It's been awhile since I've logged in here, but here's my 2022 contribution... about to change out to a whole new setup. Should be ready February 1st. Still a handful of big projects to finish up, but it's almost "done" (8 years later).

Hey so wanted to throw this out here... Primitive Racing now makes the hidden winch mount for the legacy/outback crew. It's a solid and stellar piece that replaces the front bumper beam. I mounted a Warn Axon 55s to it and it works wonders when stuck. Also, Raceline just released a set of small vehicle offroad wheels for us Subaru peeps. Apologize for the quick advertising plug, but wanted to share with y'all that companies are still willing to make us, the red headed step child IMHO, parts.

The y is a lovely motor and such a blast to drive with the twinscroll. Currently have a 20y with the JDM ECU and wiring harness installed. FYI, it has a higher redline than the USDM 255... something around 7500. Regarding the downpipe... I believe the 15+ twinscroll wrx downpipes will fit, but can't remember. Im trying to remember if mine was completely lost or we found it, but I wanna say the 15+ WRX has that funky mounting plate.

I've always looked this car! I think I like it even better after I see the sight flair damage on the rear. It does that you actually drive the car and enjoy it!

I actually just noticed it... you cant tell, but it's actually wet and not damaged. Was driving in the rain and snow. Due to the tires being a smidge wider than the flares they throw alot of crap on the flares.

Wow. The craziest part is that this is RHD Legacy with USDM style bumpers.... gotta give you credit for being original.

I mean I am in the states and all... PNW (Seattle) to be exact. I kept the USDM bumpers because they work with the mods I've done to them.

-Varis Brake Ducts from 04/05 STi modified to fit in the stock foglight housing

-02/03 OEM WRX 3 piece front lip

-Hidden winch system behind the bumper skin coming in the near future

God damn, a little to "busy" for my personal tastes but I can certainly appreciate the effort put into it. I have so many questions about this beast. For starters, where did you get that grill emblem? Is this a RHD conversion? Modified outback fenders?

Thanks mate. I'm going on year 6 of the build with so much more to do... or at least that's how I feel. I mainly use it for offroading, camping/overlanding, and daily driving as funny as that sounds haha. To answer your starting questions...

RHD - yes imported half a car. Swapped the firewall, dash, ecu, wiring harness, and motor.

 

Flares - BP5 Corazon flares from Japan.

I thought about those too... Im going to pull them later today and have them tested at work. I'm horrible at electrical. Currently have the blower motor and blower motor resistor pulled out to test as well.

I'm so close to figuring this heater issue out, but I've reached another wall.

 

I've managed to get the display on and functioning (meaning it blows air) for about 5 seconds. When I turn the key to ACC the display turns on and gets bright (like the headlights are off). It then builds the fan speed to high (or whatever speed it was set at when the car was last on) and after that that's when my 5 seconds starts. During that 5 seconds I can do any adjusting of the panel and the blower blows out nice warm air (32°C). However, after 5 seconds the display dims (like the headlights are turned on), the controls stop working (but the display still shows everything) and the blower stops working... Like it almost just dies (almost sputters to a stop). I've now been able to replicate this 4-5 times.

 

Any ideas? I know for a fact it's not the display module as it does the same exact thing with another single zone display module. Unit is a single zone climate control with single zone ac/heater stuff and the wiring harness is a JDM complete harness and ECU.

 

Car is a 2005 USDM Legacy GT Wagon with a 2006 JDM RHD conversion (entire wire harness, JDM ECU, JDM EJ20Y motor, RHD dash, and JDM RHD firewall).

I've seen that 2nd thread... guess it might be time to pop open the module and see what it looks like on the inside. I'm hoping I have a spare main controller too and didn't toss it. Hopefully that's not it though, but I'm having a big feeling it is. Both my control modules (HVAC) display the exact same image when connected.

Hello all,

I have searched, gone over the car for the past couple weeks, and messaged multiple people for help. All results have come up empty handed and now it's starting to get to a point where it's frigid out... So I'm reaching out to y'all for maybe something I haven't thought of.

 

Car: 2006 Legacy GT Single Zone Climate Control (should be the same as dual zone more or less I'd think)

 

Problem: doesn't work at all... I get illumination power, but that's it. However, the other day I randomly hit some buttons and it magically turned on. It blows super hot which I was thankful for, but it was only temporary. The minute I turned off the car and then back on again it lost all power except illumination. However, I did end up with the symbol seen in one of the attachments. I have checked all my fuses and they're all good. I've swapped out different single zone climate control modules and both do the exact same thing (one was OEM with the car and the other was from the avojdm kit). Last night I unplugged the harness to the main controller (seen in the other attachment) and the display went blank... So now I'm basically at step one.

 

Questions...

-Any one got any ideas?

-Has anyone ever seen this before?

 

Oh before it started working the other day it would blow hot air out the vents naturally like on speed 1 or if we had it .5... Basically enough to slowly and I mean snail pace heat the interior. Now after it has stopped working / getting that symbol it does not do that. Which means I'm guessing it's the actuator door? Another question I have is... Would the actuator assembly cause the display to stop working?

Why can't you use the trunk 12v cig outlet? If you don't have one the wagons are wired for one on the driver side.

You still have the leaf? Glad you finally got back in a Subie after all these years!

Lastly, if you have time do you think you could track me down a JDM BP5 Rear gate garnish + rear fog in Regal Blue?

Ahh so you're the one I've been hearing about haha. A couple buddies have been telling me Adan is working on another LGT Wagon. Originally we all thought you were going to RHD swap since you bought the entire clip. Anyways, the build looks awesome and looks like Adan cleaned up the warehouse for way more room. Tell him Jonny Walker said hello when you see him again! Let him know my wagon is running perfectly and that I'll probably stop buy in the next couple months. Keep up the awesome build man!
