  1. ^ I wouldn't suggest Cardone anything. I have had too many bad experiences across multiple vehicles.

To be honest, I don't have any experience with Cardone other than the axles.

That being said, I'm 2 for 2 in successful axle replacements using Cardone parts.

As I mentioned before, when you buy the $180 OEM remanufactured axle, you're buying an axle that was reman'd my Cardone:

  2. I asked for a quote this week. One axle would be $160 plus $60 shipping, which includes a prepaid return label for core. That is to California. Hate to say it but too rich for my situation. The EMPI axles may not be as "good" or as reliable, but for $62 shipped, for new, no core required, it's tough to beat.

Consider splurging a full $3 more than EMPI and getting an A1 Cardone reman axle. A1 Cardone is the company that remanufactures axles for Subaru, from what I read. You can buy them from AutoZone (http://www.autozone.com/drivetrain/cv-axle/duralast-reman-cv-axle/subaru/legacy-awd/2005/4-cylinders-6-2-5l-sfi-sohc/26123_706373_0_78656/) and they come with a lifetime warranty).

  3. Had a productive Sunday evening:

    [*]Tribeca Front swaybar 20401XA00A

    [*]Tribeca swaybar bushes 20414XA01A x2

    [*]Adjustable swaybar links

    Tribeca bar installed

    New adjustable links

Question about the Tribeca sway bar -- specifically the adjustable endlinks: which brand endlinks are those and what size? I'm thinking about switching to the Tribeca bar but unsure of what end links will work.

    Thanks.

I love your Legacy by the way. Probably one of my top 5 of all time.

  4. Nice! I've been putting off hardwiring my dash cam for almost a year but I may go ahead and do it.

FYI, I have an OjoCam Pro Mini 0801 that I've been using since last April and I actually really like it. The price on Newegg is up to $120 but I paid significantly less than that (I don't remember the exact price). Beware, though, that a lot of eBay sellers are selling counterfeit versions of these.

The video is pretty good and includes all the standard dash cam goodies (1080p recording, audio recording optional, G sensor [so if you get into an accident it automatically flags and locks the video event so it can't be recorded over], GPS [the user interface for playback maps your rides along with your mph at the time], parking mode, etc.

The newest version of that cam is the 0806 model and has increased video quality (1296P vs 1080P), lane departure warning, front collision warning, etc. I may buy that and sell my 0801 for cheap.

    Here's video from my 0801.

Make sure you choose 1080p. Pardon the music. It was from their free selection.

  5. Very nice setup!

Curious on how you slammed Leggys are rolling with or without rubbing. Did you reshape or remove your fender liners and did you have to roll or pull in the front?

My OB has a beefier tire 245/45 on a 19x9" wheel and is rubbing mid liner up front if I hit bumps in a turn. Just wondering how you guys got moar low.

I really dislike this generation of Outback, but yours is making me reconsider. That thing is pretty bad ass.

  6. I'm hesitant to give any fuel additive suggestions because I'm not entirely sure they're anything more than snake oil.

However, last year I was having some serious misfire issues. I poured a bottle of Lucas system/fuel/injector cleaner in with a tank of gas and it cleared about 75% of the misfire issues almost immediately.

Eventually I removed the fuel injectors and put a little bit of the cleaner directly in the injector cleaner (and then wiped it out with a cloth) and it completely fixed the misfire issues.
