  1. Ok, I see. Sounds much like my local dealership here...sometimes their prices are really "over the top" compared to those of other European countries.

From what I found, the German accessory catalogue is the one with the widest programme and best prices. Here's the link: http://www.subaru.de/allrad-fahrzeuge/legacy-boxermotor/zubehoer.html (just click on the pdf file).

As far as I understand You get the JDM = EDM version in Peru, so all these accessories mount on the (2010-2012) Legacy.

Unfortunately we do not (yet) have the 2013 facelift in Europe, so I can't assure that all this stuff goes 1:1 on Your car.

But at least You get a clue on what may be possible...

    Ciao, Michael.

Thanks a lot Michael for your very useful contribution. Don't want to be redundant, but the 2013 GT has a couple more updates than just the facelift. Take for example, that the SI Drive controls are now located on the steering wheel, (where your girlfriend or wife will have a harder time noticing when you go into Sport Sharp mode :)) and the parking brake has been moved from its weird location to where the SI drive used to be.

    Saludos!

  2. The codes I stated are the official product codes of Subaru, so any dealer can get them and sell them (as long as they have them listed as "available" in their database).

I ran a quick google check right now and found e.g. www.subaruaccesorios.cl but surely there are others in South America, just straighten down the search parameters to Your needs.

At least this would help getting around having to do a single import (= transport + duty clearance cost).

    Ciao, Michael.

No Michael, it won't necessarily. This will be a particular country-to-country basis. For example, in my case the grille was avaliable from Subaru Peru a cost of US$ 1,114.00, so I did not want to get around doing this single import (= transport + duty clearance cost), for the simple reason that this saved me around US$ 500.00

    Saludos!

  3. @Magopra:

Your grille looks much like the Subaru code J1010AJ600NN, sold in Italy at Euro 199,- incl. VAT (approx USD 270).

There is also another type, code J1010AJ630, sold at Euro 279,- incl. VAT (approx USD 380).

The difference between the two is the colour of the outside frame (600NN: silver, 630: black plastic) and the grille mesh position (600NN: at 3-4 cm inside the frame, 630: upfront)

Hope this helps others as reference for a direct buy in Subaru.

    Ciao, Michael.

Thanks Michael, can you provide the link where these can be bought please?

    Saludos.

  4. Magopra,

Congrats on your Legacy GT and nice choice of grille btw. Was thinking of doing just that for my SWP 2.5i Limited 2011 model.

Any major differences between a "surface mesh" or expanded metal" grille? Why did you go for the "surface mesh" option?

    Saludos,

    LOW

Thanks LOW , went for that one because for me it's the one that is more congruent with the general design of the car, the most detailed and finally because it is made by Subaru themselves. Is this the one you are considering for your car?

Here you've got a rather more detailed image of the grille.

    Saludos tambien.

  5. @magopra

True, some very meticulous photo analysis/comparison will need to be done for the 2013 USDM owners to see if it fits.

For 2010-2012, the grille is different in USDM vs EDM and JDM. So that's a "no go" for direct bolt-on for us.

Dear f-a-f, I think it would not be a very smart move from Subaru to offer an accessory grille that fits only a small portion of the 2013 and perhaps some of the 2011-2012 global Legacy line, but, as you said, and as I did myself prior to ordering this grille, a careful photographical study is desirable.

Let me say, though, that japanparts.com requires you to provide your VIN No. on ordering, so this should narrow the error margin.

    Have a good one!.

  6. Believe us, we know about this site. It contains "mostly" parts for Subaru Legacies that are not intended to fit USDM Legacies :( It may be different for 2013 models however 2010-2012 models do not have many parts that fit.

In this case, this particular grille is manufactured by Subaru itself, for all the 2013 Legacys that they sell in Peru. From the pictures I've seen on this forum of many 2013 USA Legacys, this one seems 100% compatible bro.

Please notice that the pictures I enclosed above come from the Subaru global site, so perhaps the grille may fit more than one region.

"The important thing is that we enjoy our cars"

  7. Well, I'm impressed that your grill is a Subaru product too. Nothing like that in N. America.

I spotted this grille on http://www.subaru-global.com/13legacy_acc.html

even before buying my car and decided I needed one of those. My local Subaru dealer said it needed to be imported from Japan at a cost of US $ 1,114.00. After some intense research I found (thanks to this forum) the amazing http://www.japanparts.com site where I was able (after waiting for 3 weeks) to get the grille: http://www.japanparts.com/db/parts_detail.php?NUMBER=00040795&VOLUME=488-008-001&DEALER=1&CAR=180&MIDDLE=&SMALL=&MAKER=5&VOLKEY=&SEARCH_DEALER=1&SEARCH_CAR=180&SEARCH_MIDDLE=&SEARCH_SMALL=&SEARCH_MAKER=5&SEARCH_VOLKEY=&SEARCH_page=&submit.x=63&submit.y=10

    for US $ 423.50 + $ 100 shipping $ 100 customs taxes. That's 44% less...still pricey, I know but as I said, just had to have it.

This grille has extraordinary detailing that allows the bonnet creases to continue on to the grille thanks to its three dimensional design, as you can notice in the enclosed pic.

You guys should try this site!

  8. Your car is a 2013, which if I understand correctly is Ice Silver Metallic. This is the Steel Silver Metallic thread. Hanger was just trying to steer you in the right direction. Look for the Ice Silver thread.

Thanks a lot, RailKill. Will do.

I see your quote is signed "Subaru Legacy Forums"...are you an administrator? If so,(or not) will you please answer my question: what does the name of this page (legacygt.com) implies?

I'm just trying to clarify this point.

All the best for you too and thanks again.

  9. Magopra,

GenSis is right, mine is JDM (aus). Maybe you could remove the 'boomerang' or wing from the grill to get the same look? Perhaps some people here have done something similar.

Congrats on your new car. Happy new year.

Magpora, that grille will only fit your car if you have the JDM Liberty/Legacy.

With the help of this great forum I was able to discover the japanparts.com site where I was able to order the correct mesh grille for my beloved 2012/13 Legacy GT.

I enclose the first two pictures of my car, still as-received from the dealer.

May 2013 be the best year for each and everyone! And thank you Gen5is and Ademob specially, Happy New Year!

  10. Thanks for sharing some great pics of cool mods - particularly where the 'traditional' subie wing has been removed, and also those game (and skilled enough) to blackout their headlamp housings. I've seen many instances, and I must admit its something I dont think I'd have the know-how or confidence to do!

Here in Aussie-land, we are fortunate enough to have the JDM liberty/legacy available for our local market.

Heres our steel-silver LGT wagon... I already had a black car in a previous life (looked great albeit only for a few hours after a wash and polish).

We just picked up a new camera, so still trying to work out the optimal night settings (hence why a tad grainy)

Hey there! Merry Christmas. You know, I just bought a 2012 LGT and you have in your car that beautiful mesh grille with the Subaru logo I want so much for my car....where can I order one please?

Best regards and a very happy New Year!
