  1. Ginger,,,,,Ginger..... I'll supply the Bread,,,,,you Supply the Wheels.. Just wondering,,,,,in a run of only 500 cars,,,,would Subaru even consider having made a few more,,,,,,, In my opinion ,they definitely should have for they were magnificent and would enhance ,,any car....
  2. Dear Ginger,,, As Gary Oldman once said in a Francis F. Coppola version of ,,Dracula( my grandparents actually came from there,,Really) ,,after hearing a few wolves howl ,,he said to Kanuwee Reeves ,,,,"That's Music ,,To My Ears" If gotten,,,it would regain the look that was intoxicating to me,,,when I the showroom floor in town motors,,Englewood N.J. I'll attempt to send you my phone number,,,via a message,,that is if I can remember how.. I already bought,or my pseudo mechanic bought another 10 spoke wheel ,,,,,,but way different. Might I ask their condition....? I'll be sending you the pertnents...
  3. This is Not a reply ,,but simply a query ,,asking the voluminous info that is available on here,,,I'm not kidding.. I was going to Empire casino on route -46 linking N.J. To the G.W. Bridge,,it was late maybe 11:30pm,,,,,I hit a pothole ,,size yet to be determined ,,however I reached my destination,,,and when leaving found my right rear tire flat.I managed with some fix a flat to make it home and set up an appointment with a garage,,,,in that 1 mile trip,,my right Front went down,,,, I found that both right or passenger wheels/rims were cracked.... Since those wheels play such an integral part of the overall looks,,,,and the near impossibility of getting the original part wheels ,,, What are my options,,,,,I can't even sell it (18 ) ,,,as an 06 ,,without that unmistakeable look,,and believe it or not,,I only have 37.2 K miles on it ,,and meticulously maintained,,,,,, What am I to do.... Any help, suggestions,,,would be Greatly Appreciated...
  4. That's the ,,conundrum,, I will not buy a cell phone,,,nor my 35 mm pictures taken by a pro camera ,,Topcon.RE Super 58 mm les F1.4 standard lens be accepted on this site ,,like comparing a 5 element Pentode tube ,,,yes the types that drug stores had test equipment on ,,you know filiment grid, screened grid, yes I see we are of such an ,,,understanding... What am I to do,,, It's really superb on highways and elsewheres ,,in that ..traveling at 75 mph ,,it passes so many others ,,effortlessly as to make my spirits grow...... Is it maintain,,,,,, Or as someone else so eloquently ,,Crooned..... !"Should I Stay ,,,,or Should I ....Go" I'm Johnny Eager here,,,I got 37.2 K on her ,,,,,gotta be ,,,Unique,,,,,
  5. Every once in awhile I think of selling my precious,,B It's been reliable, friendly( save dealership visits) ,,and just turned I believe 37K ,,that's all ....you might say incredible,,,I'll say possible...it's truth... I will never own a cell phone,,and although I have professional 35 mm equipment ,,it doesn't translate to this site. It's number 18 ..bought from Town Motors ,brand new....I'm it's only owner .. What am I to do....?? Funny thing,,,although only a tad old ,,it outshines almost every car,,in Any parking lot...it's just......That Good..
  6. Hey mumbles,,,,,, I'm old enough to be your grandpa..... You know nothing about me,,,,that remark without doing due Dilligence shows what you are.
  7. It warms my very heart seeing a performance car well cared for..... I am willing to bet my number 18 has the fewest miles on it..... Coming back from Empire Casino,,,where Thetoad won 2200 on a Deux of Wheel Of Fortune games the odometer told me we had traveled 33,784 miles,,,many on the PA. Turnpike .
  8. Someone Mentioned........ The possible demand problems facing an 2006 Subaru B as far as its capabilities.....As if old before its old... I'd say there are standard equipment on that car that will match up with almost any other vehicle in its price range to this Very Day,,,,save Driverless Parking Abilities.... If maintained well this car will hold its own against competition costing substantially more and it's resale history is well known. Don't sell this car short,,it would be an injustice. P.S. hey Mr. Box ,,,,what's with Claimed.....are you doubting that I own number -18 bought in Town Motors,,,,Englewood N.J. Say it ain't So.....Box....
  9. Mr.Kita... I'll trade a newborn dachshund for one of yours and school you about the true concept of Subaru,,,the most hidden of niche market autos,,,,,, It's in your best interests to do it,,,, Also,if not said prior driving in those ,,,,ooooh Dangerous north woods and risking life and limb,,,Theeeeetoad ,recomends those Bosch ICON Wipers,,,could save you from bears or in the worst case a Rambo XXIV Movie....that is winding around it.....after Expendables XV it's in production,,,,up there...I wish to spare you of that,,,,,,Painful Of Watches.... Your mechanical knowledge is well established and won't dare compete in that theatre ,,,,However.....
  10. Mr. Moderator, I've been on good behavior mode but that blue ink is somewhat disturbing in addition I know not what I did to get that distinction. I have a 417 too.... OK......OK......kiddin However all I ask is for the basics.... That Buy / Sell is beyond me,,I've looked at comparable vehicles but decided I'll die with this car,in addition believe it or not I only have about 30.6 Leagues, check that,,,miles on it and I don't own a cell phone/camera nor ever will but I love photography and I've carried my 35 mm Topcon RE Super with its F-1.4 58 mm standard lens thru jungles and even civilized areas so I couldn't even display it for potential buyers.
  11. Maybe that blue ink can be ,,,,eliminated for the esteemed -18 Thetoad ?
  12. I would never even under duress buy any English car save possibly a Lotus.I was always a fan of the Élan many years ago.The English have great abilities in some design aspects as the Italians do but if a car is required to actually get you from here to there....on a regular basis they simply don't make the cut. Reliability is something I demand and almost all the exotics simply fail in this arena. German cars are still lagging Japanese and possibly even Korean products now and given that premium in price spent simply not worth the money in my mind. They just announced the top 10 carmakers in some sort of comparative test and Lexus came in number UNO ,,,again. Our best USA product was,,,get this....Big Grilled Buick Coming in at number 7,the best American car showing,,but Subaru came in at number 5 overall, not too shabby considering it's a tad more than a niche car company. My intent was never to spew harmful stuff in fact the knowledge I've gained cant be honestly measured and never intended to insult anyone,,,especially a moderator. If I did I apologize right now. Some of my posts come from angles not totally expected and for that I duly appreciate leeways given to me to express my feelings and experiences. I hope I can enjoy the ..Priviledge of membership here.
  13. Update.... Well now I had a rough start but as usual more than the worm turned at midnight.Hit for $5K on something called the Green Machine ,and further smaller amounts on a Wheel Of Fortune Progressive Machine. Am I to be a Sponsor of sorts on your racing career ,,,,Mr. Box? Every now and then I think of selling my -18 however every time I look at comparable vehicles I can't believe what I see. Jaguar ,leasing a 2.0 for $519 per month..... What am I missing here. Someone tried to take my seat and steal a $377.00 voucher from me but in casinos everything is under surveillance cameras at all times,,,,and I'd say in the bathrooms as well... What would you do with my car,,,,,,hold........or .....sell....
  14. Hard to argue with that.. I know how this casino works,,,counts money taken earlier then freeing up machines... I know..subject not relevant here but I've always been a teacher at heart and it hurts this soul that my knowledge of these cars is severely lacking.I learned to drive on a army 3/4 ton truck in a place called DiAn in 1970,,headquarters for the Big Red 1 ...Tom Murphy taught me how to drive even though when I got in country...an officer asked .."Who wants a Driving License" I raised my hand and had a legit license although I never drove an inch...had only one automatic a Datsun 210 ,,great engine,,terrible sheet metal exterior,,even had in their manual,,"To garage or not" well said for rustproofing was only to come. I know I'm different and bring other,,,,let's say intangibles into the mindset.... I only mean to possibly enlighten,,,and more importantly to learn more,,,that's it.
  15. One last thought.... We Americans have lost our sense of Humor which I believe critical.Could be loss of assets ,medical problems and countless other situations we now find ourselves in,,,but hear me please,,never, ever lose that humor for if you do you'll age faster. I'm not skilled as the lowest skilled here in car terms but I've gained life experiences innumerable in my army years and others.Cherish it as a first born.
  16. Honestly I'm happy... Now fix the machines for me ,,at Empire Casino,,,,and if possible the $5-15 Wheel of Fortune.... If done you may see me on my knees....but I think not.....
  17. Im only a true owner of a great car.,no more,Kim 66 years old and my point was how great it performed on a distance recently unknown to me.my trips are at best 25 miles, and I demanded well over 1200 of it in ,,unknown terrotory . My intent was to show its brilliance in unknown miles since it only took me 25 miles per trip ordinarily . .It did perform in regions unknown as you see for I've only logged I have only a bit over 30 K of miles on it. If you dispute it ...my address is known to you. And now I voyage to Empire Casino... For your records. Again..I yield VIN 4S3BL676466205937 I'm an honest sort and mean no problems ,,,,but "Claimed" is totally unacceptable. I'm as almost constant ..."As the Northern Star"... And do your best to ,,,,Disclaim that validity...
  18. Mr. Moderator... I noted the claim as if I'm some unknown character... You have my E Mail....I'm all ears ...but it appears the staff..your staff believes me fictitious and if so people must admit to a challenge.I saw this in the registry .If you continue to assert this ,,,, I demand Satisfaction. For what I've said..I'll back up .. Or band me from here. You have my numbers from TOWN MOTORS ,SUBARU....... I have matched set pistols if you dispute the validity of my car.
  19. At all. I only wanted to say the performance when required did justice to the machine lets say #-18 I'm not a mechanic although I was a building engineer in the Wall Street area,,my car is virgin never modified save some ceramic brake pads but that's it. Response when called upon ..really ..possibly saved my life when a semi blew out retreads somewhere in northern Pennsylvania . Just heard on cnbc if there are those not acquainted its a money show,,,,top 10 carmakers..... Lexus won ,,,however a niche carmaker Subaru came in 5th place.....I'll buy that for a dollar... Anyway,,I hope this be excepted in the spirit sent.
  20. Yes,for me to a place called Clemmons North Carolina from the G.W.Bridge a one way of 634 miles on I-78 to 81,to 77,and local roads...coming back 664 miles via locals and 77 to 81 and finally 80. My car is still a baby even after this trip there is only a tad over 30K on it. Just wanted to say its performance may have saved my life for as I floored it passing a truck it's front left tire blew out ,,possibly a retread but with the luck of having a left shoulder on 81 north in Pennsylvania somewhere and a ability to ask for speed at an instant it did itself proud. This is all true...the gods will confirm it. By the way I did both the going and coming in one day...leaving at 5:30 AM each way,,,,it performed magnificently during the entire week and I heartily endorse those Bosch ICON windshield Wipers they to performed as advertised.
  21. May I ask what would be the acceptable compression readings and finally the condition of the drivers seat and if the passenger seat is interchangeable. The drivers side allows up and down movement that that passenger seat don't but is that through mechanisms or differences in build. Any info will be warmly received.
  22. Just wondering if there was still a demand for this car.I own # 18 and believe it or not I have driven it only 27.1 K miles and I'm the original owner. Under 50 club...sounds like bullion coins sold as either "Early Releases or "First strike" I'd say one is as good as the next.....
  23. A need to know what is not on the standard radar.... I was just contacted by a member concerning # 18 and is it sold,,or for sale..This communique came out of the blue. This particular car strikes multiple chords in people and I'm aware of a few however it's ongoing popularity still perplexes. I've been accused of not living or enjoying life because I stated there is only 25.6 K miles on it.It has not been subject to any modifications save one,,,a cosmetic one.For whatever reason I did not bond with the brushed aluminum look of the dash and bought a kit for it from some California after market producer of accessories. It can be removed however I still love the look regardless.OK.....that's it..... What am I missing ......I'm all ears.. I bought this car brand new off the showroom floor in Town Motors ,englewood N.J.,march 2007,the car would be bought the very next day for my trade in and cash paid for the remainder.I do remember writing down the mileage on the car and come the next day someone put an enjoyable 82 extra miles on it which I did Not Enjoy....,but could somewhat understand......maybe I just answered my question...
  24. Et tu Brute Or Ad deum quay Lay tiffin at uven tu tum miem That's the extent of my Latin vocab.....
  25. When I had my clutch replaced the mechanic left a greenish lubrication grease on my drivers side seat.I did not realize it till later because the garage was dark, and I just came back from a Nat Sherman cig break,,,,anyway I finally got them to man up for the problem, however I attempted to remove or clean the seat prior. Town motors in Englewood N.J. Works with a nearby leather place who does there refurbishment work, and although skeptical I allowed it. For a very unique brick red interior with very few examples on the road,,I was amazed at their ability to redye that seat accurately. So as a suggestion,,if you can find just a plain seat that mimics the original but in good condition,,,someone should be able to duplicate my experience. Hope this might help.
