185k original engine. timing belt and head gaskets were done at 142k when I bought the car. they didn't replace the tensioner and I lost the new timing belt shortly after I bought it. luckily no internal damage and they replaced the belt again, AND tensioner. for free.

Have you tried asking a tech what the offset of that wheel is?

 

Offset and backspacing can be different from wheel to wheel, i.e., two different wheels with same offset will have different backspacing.

 

well that's just plain confusing. and "ask a tech"? what kind of tech? if you tell me to ask someone from a place like town fair tire I might have to slap you. they know nothing an half ass everything. I used to work at one, I know.

ok. thanks. read and reread different threads on offset but no one ever explained it as "opposite". they max at 5" of backspacing. so that would stick out more? sounds like im looking at 15x8 with 5" backspacing.

anyone know what offset I would need to run a bassett wheel on a 2nd gen legacy wagon with stock suspension +camber bolts front and rear? I want the 15x8's but I don't have a clue what to order for backspacing. bassett uses backspacing. factory offset is +55mm.

gotta love new England, half way through doing the "sport mode" ground wire mod and it starts pouring. we'll see how it works out.
