  1. The before picture is 6 months ago (I didn't take a profile picture before I started working. I got a little excited.) The front is at the max height within their defined limits (160mm), the rear is at -5mm from max height(125mm). I wish I could go up another 5mm on the front. =|

  2. That DRL was added to th original SAP headlights, not aftermarket. For DRL, I saw off the chrome swoosh-like piece and replace by 2 led strips. Not difficult, just time consuming and soem labour. Thats all.

     

    Looks pretty darn good. Well done. Those DRLs don't looke like LEDs. Do you use some sort of diffuser? Do you have a DIY or pictures of the build process? =p

     

    also noob question: what does SAP stand for?

  3. How did it go? Have you done it yet?

     

    It helps to start at the ends, and also to do it when its a little warmer out. I had a heater in my garage and I moved the heater along the lip as I worked my way from the end to the middle. Took about 1 hour by myself. And duct tape is your friend. If you have an actual person friend to help, it will go faster.

    I started at the middle and tried going back, thinking that I would be able to easily pull the ends together. The lip didn't seem to have the right form...as if it was made wider than the fender. The pictures were with the middle held in place with painter's tape while the ends rested there. If I tried to bend the ends to their place, the middle moved away from where I expected it to line up.

    So I started at the ends, and I did my best to pull the lip as far forward as possible so that the middle part would line up. It came within 1/2 inch of lining up...

    It's kinda meh...but holes are drilled, its installed, and it was fairly cheap. I also added a "skirt" to it. No pictures of that yet, though. I'll get a picture posted after my bumper cover is reinstalled later this week or next. Maybe I'll like it more when its installed. ;)

  4. First off, thanks for the good info, Scooby-GT. Even if I don't consider a wrx strut swap, the spring rates for the LGT springs were useful. ^.^

     

    In my experience, and I'm sure others can speak to the other side of this, most shops can't do the job right. They mostly get it right...sometimes. Too much complacency these days. Strut swap can be easy, but it can quickly become a hassle. I like working on my car, so the time it takes to do a strut swap isn't a problem. The problem comes when I don't have the tools to remove a bolt tightened by a demi-god. :p $635 on labor is better spent elsewhere, imho.
