  1. Thx. I went yesterday and insisted they review the tsb and apply. Based on others experiences, I expected to go back because they likely didn;t apply #2 correctly, but to my surprised, the backup DB is the same nu9309 as the others.

BUT, I think what they missed was the memory initialization. As I read on this thread, it looks like you will need to repair and redo the audio stuff, but when I got the car, everything was still working, the phone paired up just fine, etc. Perhaps this was ok, but I decided to do the memory initialization just in case.

    Thank you for the help.

Your dealer is wrong. NU9309 is correct for a 2016 Legacy/Outback with NAV (after update), per TSB 15-205-16, page 6. Go get 'em!
  2. I keep asking the dealer about the update and they keep telling me I have the latest. But from what I see here I dont. Before I yell and scream, I would like to confirm.

    2016 legacy 3.6r

    gen2 -- FB695US -- with Nav

    NOr NU9305

    eSD NU9305

    Power 02.4026

    Can 14.0012

    Power Boot 02.4117

    Power vcl 02.0103

I thought I needed this to be nu9309

    thx

  3. In addition to what the above person said, make sure you have at least 1 mirrorlink based app installed on the phone. That was the big thing for me. It looked like it wasn't working but once I downloaded one of the app (I think syngic or something) it appeared and started working. (I'm on Note 4, so I'm not sure if there is a specific S7 issue or not.. just wanted to give a quick thought)

BTW (not that you asked, but), mirrorlink to me is useless.. Wish this had androidauto or something more advanced. About the only think I dislike about our car.

Went back to the dealer today. They re-installed the software after I explained why I didn't think it was installed correctly. Dash Compass is now operational as are Turn-by-turn instructions. Had to reset all my station settings and re-pair my Bluetooth phone settings. Mirrorlink still doesn't work with my Galaxy S7. :(
  4. From what I have read, it looks like 2013s use GPS signal to see if you are moving, so unlike before where you ground a pin, now it looks like may have to put a switch in the middle to turn off GPS signal, do you business and turn it back on, or something like that.. way too technical for me, I was hoping for something simpler and bugaboo proof :) thx

I have yet to see one but i also haven't looked at all. I would not doubt at all that its very similar to the previous gen screens where you just need to ground the right wire to lie to the nav a little bit
  5. Is the reference to nav-screen lockout defeat for a 2013 legacy or the earlier model? From what I have seen, 2013 nav lockout can't be defeated but I could be mistaken. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

    thank you

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but once you do the Nav-screen lockout-defeat mod, you can go into the Nav settings --> Vehicle Information screen and see how fast you are going as per the GPS, which is far more accurate *and independent of your tire size* than the speedo in the car.

If like me, you have a scan-gauge II or other digital speedo with configurable correction factor, you can use the nav system screen to correct it.

The ECU in my car reports 1% faster than actual on my summer tires and 3% faster than actual on my winters. More importantly, the gauge is wayyy off.. about 6% or more.
