  1. Two like new high performance wireless routers up for sale. Purchased just last year.

Currently $181 each on Amazon. These are fast, powerful, and far more capable than the built in WiFi Comcast or Verizon give you, or the tired old router you are currently using. And much much faster/stable than using a Wifi extender.

They will help you with lag and dead zones in your home. If you have a large house, both routers can be connected to provide simple and effective mesh coverage in and around your house. I had a full signal in every room of my 3500 sqft split level (4 floors), and could even get a strong signal across my entire 2/3 acre front/back yard. They are easy to setup and have an Apple or Android app for easy management.

$200 shipped to the lower 48.

Feel free to message with any questions.

Ready to ship these out today.

From the looks of the inlet placement I would think it wouldn't be a stretch for these to work on 5th Gen LGT's and the 2015 WRX. Those models would probably just need a custom charge pipe from the low mount turbo. Which Grimmspeed should also fab up.

Looks similar to the Hyperflow TMIC, just wider. Which I think is a good look for Grimmspeed because they'll sell more units from a cross -platforming design.

  3. Just following up. I posted in the first page of this thread. I installed the OEM oring. the old one came out looking like a rubber band and not a ring. Installed the new oring, and 10,000 miles later still no leaks, no noise, no steering related issues whatsoever.

Everyone should do this as your first step in p/s pump troubleshooting. Currently at 160,000 miles on original pump!

  4. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/power-steering-o-ring-fix-197481.html

I did this. It was $4 oring.

Take the engine over off, loosen the engine cover bracket/belt goard, then unbolt the 10mm bolt that holds the p/s hose in place. lift the hose up, remove the old oring(will probably look more like a rubber band at this point) get the new oring lubed with fluid, slide it on. reinstall the hose and engine cover.

Literally took me 5 minutes. Before I saw that thread I thought I was going to have to buy a new pump. I put it off for two years because I didn't want to spend the money. Best find ever.

  5. In my thread linked below in my sig, you'll see where the clamps are.

I lockwired them for a few years to seal the gas. May be the old photos are there of the lockwire. I can't see them from work.

The main leak is the front clamp behind the AC compressor.

    See picture in post 57.

    and,

    http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4678_zps8b9100aa.jpg

I had to do exactly this about a week ago. I had been smelling fuel for about two weeks and thought it was cold start catless exhaust smells. Looked under my hood while replacing a p/s pump oring and saw fuel dripping steadily from this hose. Scared the shit out of me. Easy fix though.

  6. I got it. Felt bad for the buyer / poster. BNR's turbos are all Mitsu CHRAs, and he stands behind his product.

That is a convenient misconception. However you sir are misinformed, and contributing to the problem.

Also it is quite obvious that this can't be true because the configuration of the cartridge housing is completely different than any of the mitsu turbos. For instance on subies the water inlet/outlet are on the same side of the housing. On Mitsu turbos they are on opposite sides.

The parts BNR use are replica's/knockoffs/interpretations/what-have-you of the MHI compressor wheel and turbine shaft. They have to machine these components and re-balance them, and machine the housings for proper clearance. It's not a MHI wheel, turbine, bearings, etc etc etc.

If that doesn't convince you that you are spreading misinformation(which it certainly should) Here is an email response from Bryan last year when I ordered my BNR 16g.

    Hey John.

We have our own parts custom made. The bearing housing has the correct bolt patterns for all of the OE oil and water lines. MHI doesn't make them for direct fitment especially in the VF40 compressor housing. Our thrust bearings are upgraded along with the thrust collars.

MHI parts have went out the roof ever since the quake a while back. If we used MHI parts, the turbo would be 3 times more expensive if you can even get your hands on the parts.

I am on backorder on compressor wheels but they should be here Tuesday of this week. Thats the only hold up. ETA is this week if you call and order tomorrow.

Sorry to burst your bubble. He does make a good product though. I've put 30k miles on my turbo since I bought it last year and it works fine. No complaints here.

It does make me curious where he orders his parts from if he doesn't order them from MHI. Maybe from Kamak? ;)

When this one fails, I'll be purchasing a Kinigowa.

  7. For $2 I'll give it a shot.

My symptoms are identical to the OP. Zero issues Last year, just a small fluid leak. Winter comes, starts acting up. Make it through the winter, no issues all spring, all summer.

First startup on a cold day a few weeks ago... issues come back.

I've never seen anything dextron based that wasn't red. This includes coolant and p/s fluid.

  8. As stated earlier in the thread, I don't know how you would get the STS upgrade without contacting them directly, or finding a distributor to get the upgrade. As of now, it does not appear to show up as an upgrade on the site

The difference between Kamak and Kinugawa, are that Kamaks come standard as billet/STS. Kinugawa starts as cast, and then you can add on options, and then the price goes up, naturally. The specific differences between a fully optioned out Kinugawa and an equivalent Kamak? That I do not know...

I know the Kamaks have a 360* thrust bearing, and the Kinugowa do not. Not sure if there is any other differences for sure

  9. Edit: Never be quick is an odd statement to make. It's the same engine as the Legacy GT, any performance modifications you can perform on the Legacy you can also perform on the 2.5XT; but given that its a heavy wagon you are right, it will never be as quick as or handle as well as a sedan... I could spend thousands on it and the best i could hope for is a spirited car that is fun to drive, but yes, it will never actually be quick for a import... just quick*.

*for a big long heavy wagon

    ^Fixed that for ya.

    Not trolling. Just being honest.

Honestly, I miss having the utility of the outback or a wagon in general.

Before I bought my LGT I found a red(solid not two tone or plastic clad) w/ black interior that I would have loved, but it was a 5eat. So no dice.

I still sort of regret not buying it, but I'm a sedan man first, and wagon man second. Even now i know that the sedan I drive is the compromise, and the outback i passed up would have been the prize(just slow and not as nimble)

Now I can't even fold down my back seats.

  10. Some of us hate the floppy, wallowy ride of the stock suspension.

For others, the Outback XT was the only way to get a manual wagon. They killed that off in the Legacy back in 2006 I think, but the Outback XT was available with a stick right until 2009.

I bought the Outback thinking the handling would be acceptable after owning a 2003 Outback, but as time went on I couldn't tolerate it.

And no, I'm not a teenager whining about my hand-me-down

Well that's reasonable. I know 5mt wagons are rare. I was an OB purist and hate to see them butchered.

Install some firm struts and stiffer swaybars, and spend some coin on a solid (but complimentary) wheel with excellent tires and just enjoy them for what they are.

Don't forget to keep a set of stockers around wtih some Blizzaks or :cool:a/t's

  11. I never understood why you OBXT guys go and lower them. The OBXT is what it is, and it is great at that. Embrace the ride height and abundant ground clearance.

As soon as you lower it its essentially trying to make it something its not. It's never going to handle well, and it will never be quick.

I loved my old 2.2 96 Legacy OB 5mt Limited and I friggin loved the ride height. Put 333,000+ miles on it before I cashed out.

Is this phenomenon from teenagers that are unhappy with their hand me down cars?

  12. I desperately wanted a tablet installed on my Legacy but I have gauges in the chubby and I'm worried about messing up my $400 bezel. The OEM look may take some hacking away as well :(

Just thought I'd mention this here, but has anyone tried AppRadio 2 with ARLiberator? Basically the head unit would mirror your android phone and act like a tablet install without having to buy an amp etc.

Pioneer appradio 2 with AR Liberator - YouTube

    Pioneer AppRadio 2 + Samsung Galaxy S3 + ARLiberator - YouTube

That is what I have setup. Exactly the same as the videos but with a HTC EVO3D. I love it. Its so nice to actually have google maps in my dash. My only beef with it is that it doesn't have Sirius support. Granted I could use the Sirius App, but that app has always sucked.

As for the ARLiberator app, every day it gets better. The developer is constantly improving it and in the last month it has improved leaps and bounds. You can pretty much count on an update once a week.
