  1. Hello all.

Last year I spent all summer either out of the country or working from home so my car sat for about 5 months. When I came back the battery was dead. I tried jumping it, and it wouldn’t crank. Bought a new battery and still wouldn’t crank. After the new battery is when I noticed my security light staying on when I inserted my original key.

I thought the battery being dead for so long somehow the computer might’ve lost key information so I figured I’d call a locksmith to re-program. Welp no go. Locksmith tried two different routes/tools and car will not accept a reprogram. My buddy is also a locksmith so he decided to give it a go with his tools and nothing. Key will not program. And again this is my original key I have used for almost 10 years. At this point I’m figuring something fried maybe when I tried to jump start it? Another thing to note is if I quickly try multiple times to start it, on about the third or fourth consecutive try it will fire up for about 2 seconds and then immediately shut off and the security light starts blinking.

I was searching on the forums here and some people said the ECU is what stores the key programming? Or is it the immobilizer or BCM? What should I try replacing?

    Any help is appreciated.

  2. Ive been running no plate, CO is mandatory plate tho. Was pulled over the other day for a little speeding. Officer questioned the missing plate, explained It did not match the mounting points, and he said fair enough. That being said I really need to put it on. Underdog would you mind letting me know cost for a bracket as well please?

Ah cool, I'm disappointed as I have yet to make it to the park this year. Then again weather is all over the place and my free time seems to align with the shitty weather. Plus we have zero indoor parks here.

  4. Yea these grills are pricier than gold usually, I can imagine what you paid. I waited 6 months cause I was determined not to pay a crazy amount, finally Catalyst hooked me up for a killer price.

So there looks to have been three tabs on the bottom that need to be trimmed or taken off. And then the bolt holes need to be moved. I haven't looked at fastening the bottom of the grill yet, but with the hood closed it's pretty secure so it won't fly away on the highway or something like that.

  5. I mocked up my honeycomb grill on my spec B bumper today (it was cold and I did not try very hard) but it seemed to not fit very well. I know it is not supposed to be a perfect fit, but it seemed off to me and did not clip/attach anywhere on the bottom part of the grill. Any tips or tricks I need to be aware of.

Yea it's not going to clip the bottom at all, you also need to trim that whole bottom edge so that it sits right. Someone here has the pictures and instructions.
